🌤️ 3 October 2025 — Homeward bound, with stories that will stay forever. 💫📖

The morning began early as our team departed for Yogyakarta International Airport at 6:30 a.m., carrying with us not just luggage, but memories of connection, learning, and shared purpose. ✨

After checking in and having breakfast at the airport, we boarded our flight home at 12:45 p.m. bound for Kuala Lumpur. The journey was met with unexpected pauses two flight delays that tested our patience yet gave us moments to reflect on how far we’ve come together. 🛫⏳

By 4:15 p.m., we finally touched down in Kuala Lumpur, and later at 8:15 p.m., our team safely arrived in Penang, marking the end of an unforgettable chapter the MOMAF 2025 journey.
Though the flight has landed, our hearts remain in Yogyakarta where stories of resilience, kindness, and culture continue to inspire us. 🌏💛

🌞 2 October 2025 — A day filled with culture, history, and heartfelt memories in Yogyakarta. 🏛️🌸

Our adventure began with a visit to the Muhammadiyah Museum, where we learned about the organisation’s inspiring role in education, social change, and the spirit of service that continues to shape communities across Indonesia. 📖🤝

Next, we explored the breathtaking Candi Plaosan, a symbol of harmony and resilience that stands gracefully through time. Surrounded by intricate carvings and timeless stone walls, we witnessed how culture, faith, and art come together to tell stories of peace and unity. 🕊️⛩️

In the afternoon, the team visited Kota Kerdil, soaking in the charm of its creative spaces and artistic streets that showcase Yogyakarta’s vibrant community spirit. 🎨🌿

As night fell, we made our final stop at the lively Jalan Malioboro, where laughter filled the air as everyone shopped for souvenirs and shared warm moments before returning home. It was the perfect ending to a meaningful journey — one that blended learning, friendship, and gratitude. 🌆💛

🌤️ 1 October 2025 — Stories, reflections, and shared learning in Brajan and Yogyakarta! 💬🎥

The day began early as our team travelled to Desa Brajan, where the morning unfolded with a meaningful story-sharing and reflection session at Masjid Al-Muharam.

Three short videos created by ten USM journalism students were screened and presented by Jaden Cristian Sta Maria, highlighting the lives, voices, and resilience of the Brajan community. 🕌🎬

The session brought together Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Norma Nik Hasan, Dr. Fajar Junaedi, Ustaz Ananto Isworo, USM journalism students, and the community of Desa Brajan for a heartfelt reflection and feedback dialogue. It concluded with the digital handover of project outcomes and discussions on ensuring the sustainability and continuity of the project’s impact. 🤝🌿

In the afternoon, the journey continued at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Norma Nik Hasan led an engaging forum with students from FISIPOL UMY, exploring the evolving role of journalism in today’s interconnected world. 🗞️📱

As the sun set, USM journalism students visited Malioboro Street, one of Yogyakarta’s most iconic landmarks a vibrant space where art, culture, and community come alive. The perfect ending to a day filled with learning, reflection, and connection. 🌇🎶

🌤️ 30 September 2025 — A day of stories, empathy, and shared action in Brajan. 🎥🌿

Our journey continued in Desa Brajan, beginning with a heartfelt visit to the Asyiyah Early Childhood Education Centre, where we spent the morning with the children a glimpse into the nurturing hands that shape the next generation. Their smiles reminded us why community stories matter. 🧒📚

Later, we carried out field interviews with villagers including elders, youth, and local stakeholders to gather stories surrounding the “Sedekah Sampah” (Trash Charity) movement, a remarkable initiative that connects environmental awareness with social and cultural values. 🌍♻️

From 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., USM journalism students joined the community in a simulation of the Sedekah Sampah activity, experiencing firsthand how collective action turns waste into hope. The experience deepened our understanding of how journalism can amplify stories of resilience and sustainability. 💪💬

The day continued with a Storytelling and Video Editing Workshop, where students guided community members through the basics of video editing, photography, and voice recording using CapCut. It was a beautiful exchange of skills bridging generations through creativity and shared purpose. 🎬🤝

As the evening fell, the team returned to UMY dormitories, ready to transform the day’s experiences into meaningful videos and social media content stories that carry the voices of Brajan to the world. 🌇💫

✨ 29 September 2025 — Learning, connecting, and storytelling in motion! 📚💫

Day 2 of our MOMAF2025 journey began at FISIPOL, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), where our team had the privilege of meeting the Dean, lecturers, and students.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fajar Junaedi and Dr. Nik Norma Nik Hasan for leading the insightful mini forum “Community Voices through Journalistic Storytelling for Our Shared Future”, which explored how journalism can give voice to local communities. 🗣️🎙️

The session was followed by an engaging student dialogue featuring Nur Izzani, Chong Qi Jun, and Shennaz Begum from USM, alongside Fifin Anggela Brista from UMY. Together, they exchanged perspectives on how young journalists can use social media and AI to tell impactful stories that inspire change. 💬🌏

In the afternoon, our team travelled to Desa Brajan, Tamantirto, to begin observing the local community — a meaningful first step in understanding their environment, culture, and resilience. 🌿🤝🏻

We ended the day with reflections and planning, preparing ourselves for the exciting work ahead. 🌙✨

On 28 September 2025, the USM team took flight from Penang to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, marking the start of our mission in Desa Brajan, Tamantirto — a journey of culture, community, and climate resilience storytelling. 🎥🌿

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Dr. Fajar Junaedi and our friends from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) 🤝🏻 Their kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home.

As night fell, our team gathered to reflect, plan, and prepare for the days ahead — filled with purpose, passion, and shared excitement for what’s to come. 🌙💬

Here is a short news video from Group 7 titled “Zebras spotted at USM’s He and She cafe.”

This report highlights a wild and unexpected scene where three “zebras” were spotted chilling at a campus cafe until a lone tapir tried to join the party. Unfortunately, he got the cold shoulder.

Is it a case of campus cliques or just a morning misunderstanding in the animal kingdom?
