DR. OKORO GIFTS PENSIONERS, COMMENDS STAFF FOR DEDICATION
Six pensioners of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic who retired last year have been honoured in recognition of their diligent contributions to the growth and success of the institution.
The honour came shortly after the Polytechnic’s end-of-year congregational prayer session, held to seek a successful conclusion to the 2024/2025 academic session.
Speaking at the event, the Rector, Dr. Christopher Okoro, described the recognition as merit-based and encouraged members of the Polytechnic community to remain committed to excellence and service.
He noted that the institution draws inspiration from the legacy of the retirees and expressed hope that current administrators and staff would, in due course, also be celebrated for their service.
Dr. Okoro extended his appreciation to both academic and non-academic staff, acknowledging their collective efforts in sustaining the administration.
He stated that the successes recorded within the year would not have been possible without their sound support, dedicating the achievements to the entire Polytechnic community.
The Rector further appealed for continued cooperation and support in the years ahead, emphasizing that greater accomplishments lie ahead with sustained teamwork and commitment.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, Dr. Okoro reiterated his commitment to ensuring an efficient, extortion-free academic environment for students, while stressing the importance of unity and teamwork.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the institution economically, infrastructuraly, and academically, attributing the progress made so far to the support of staff.
He also announced the recall of staff members who had been previously suspended, noting that the institution expects renewed professionalism and adherence to standards to drive further development.
In the spirit of the festive season, the Rector presented Christmas gifts to staff and non-staff members, urging them to continue to promote love, unity, and dedication.
He expressed optimism that, with divine guidance, the institution would record even greater achievements in the years ahead
