FG ROLLS OUT SCHEDULE FOR NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS

The Federal Government has released a comprehensive schedule for various National Examinations for exit classes, spanning from 17th August to 18th November, 2020.

Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba, who made the announcement today in Abuja after series of meetings with Chief Executives of examination bodies in the country said, the West African Examinations Council, (WAEC-SSCE) will start on the 17th of August, 2020 while the National Business and Technical Examination Board, (NABTEB) examinations will start on the 21st September and end by 15th October, 2020.

Other details of the schedule indicate that the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations, (SSCE) for SS3, conducted by NECO will start on the 5th of October and end on 18th of November, 2020.

The Basic Education Certificate Examinations, (BECE) for JSS 3 also conducted by NECO, will start on the 24th of August and end on the 7th of September, 2020.
Furthermore, the National Common Entrance Examination, (NCEE) which is a one-day NECO examination for intending applicants into Unity Colleges (JSS1) will run in-between the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations i.e. on Saturday, 17th October, 2020.

Registration for the NECO (SSCE), which is on-going, will end on the 10th of September, 2020 and there shall be no extension for the registration whatsoever.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION FOR 2019/2020 SESSION

NOTICE is hereby given that the accommodation portal for the 2019/2020 Session will be opened as from Wednesday 15th January, 2020. There will be daily updates on the process until the exercise is completed. Only those who have duly paid their school fees and other charges can access the portal.

The range of fees per bed space for the different hostels is as follows:
1. New Male and Female Hostels, Main Campus - N25,000
2. Old Male and Female Hostels, Main Campus - N15,000
3. Male and Female Hostels, Mini Campus - N10,000
4. Medical Hostel, Gwagwalada - N40,000

It is important to note that very limited bed spaces are available, hence allocation will be on first come first served basis. Also, it is important to note that accommodation IS NOT A RIGHT and that the University is not obliged to provide hostel accommodation for every student. Therefore, those who cannot secure bed spaces in the hostels would have to make alternative arrangements off-campus.

Squatting and illegal stay in campus are absolutely prohibited. Perpetrators will sooner or later be fished out and ejected out of the hostels, while those hosting them will automatically lose their bed spaces.

There will be zero tolerance for all acts and omissions that inhibit decent, hygienic and civilized stay on campus. Accordingly, on the portal, those applying for hostel accommodation MUST first enter into and accept an undertaking to abide by all the rules and regulations governing their tenancy of the hostels.

It is equally important to advise those desirous of hostel accommodation to be wary of and guard against fraudsters. The allocation process is strictly electronic. There will be no place for proxies, coupon or any manual means of booking or obtaining bed space. Stiff punishment, including prosecution and expulsion from the University, awaits offenders.

Please, feel free to channel all complaints and inquiries to the Students Affairs Division.
