PROMOTING EXCELLENCE: ZENITH BANK PLC PARTNERS WITH EDO STATE UNIVERSITY, IYAMHO TO REWARD BEST GRADUATING STUDENTS IN MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Edo State University, Iyamho, is pleased to announce the support of Zenith Bank Plc for an Award of Excellence Initiative, a merit-based programme established to recognise and reward outstanding graduating students in all departments in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences of Edo State University, Iyamho.

The initiative is designed to promote academic excellence and encourage a culture of hard work, innovation, and leadership among students. Students with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the following six (6) departments will each receive a cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00) during the University’s Convocation Ceremony.

• Economics
• Sociology
• Entrepreneurship

The Award of Excellence Initiative is expected to run for five consecutive sessions. This partnership reflects the shared commitment of Edo State University, Iyamho, and Zenith Bank Plc to promote academic excellence, and prepare graduates for leadership and professional success.

Edo State University, Iyamho to Host International Hybrid Conference on Employability Skills 2026

The Directorate of Career Services, Edo State University, Iyamho, under the leadership of Prof. Victor Olawale Adetimirin, will host the _International Hybrid Conference on Employability Skills 2026 (IHCES 2026)_ The conference is scheduled to be delivered in a hybrid format, accommodating both physical and virtual participation.

Date: Wednesday, 6th May 2026.
Time: 9:00am
Venue: Aliko Dangote Auditorium, Edo State University, Iyamho and Virtual

IHCES 2026 is specially designed for final-year undergraduate students across all Faculties and Colleges in the University. The initiative aims to equip participants with the essential competencies necessary for a successful transition into the global workforce.

This year’s conference is themed: “From a Graduate to a Successful Contributor to the Global Community.”

In line with the objectives of the conference, successful employers of labour and notable professionals from Africa and overseas have been invited as guest speakers to share their wealth of experience with the final-year students.

ESUI Law Graduates Bag First Class at Nigerian Law School

Two graduates of the Faculty of Law, Edo State University, Iyamho, have made the institution proud by earning First Class honours at the Nigerian Law School.

Success Nwanyeoghor Ibeh, who graduated with First Class honours from Edo State University, Iyamho, and Itoko Erica Tariere, a Second Class Upper graduate of the university, both completed the Nigerian Law School programme with First Class.

Their remarkable achievement reflects their dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence, and further underscores the quality of training offered by the Faculty of Law, Edo State University, Iyamho.

Congratulations to both graduates and congratulations to the Faculty of Law for this outstanding feat, which continues to project the university as a centre of academic distinction.
