Today, we commemorate World AIDS Day in Cross River State, emphasizing the importance of sustaining Nigeria's HIV response.
The theme, 'Sustaining Nigeria's HIV Response,' highlights our collective efforts to combat HIV/AIDS.

The University of Calabar Youth Friendly Hub took part in the commemoration activities of World AIDS Day, demonstrating its commitment to promoting HIV awareness and supporting those affected.

Next big step: Let us continue to work together to reduce stigma, promote awareness, and ensure access to HIV services for all.
Together, we can overcome the challenges and achieve a future free from HIV/AIDS.

Today, 25th November, marks the official beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness, advocating for survivors, and mobilizing communities to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

As part of this important global movement, the Unical Youth Friendly Hub, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Calabar, Cross River State, joined a solidarity walk aimed at creating awareness and sensitization on Gender Based Violence (GBV).

This initiative emphasized the importance of community involvement in ending abuse, empowering survivors to speak out, and encouraging bystanders to act. It also highlighted the critical role of young people in championing a society where everyone regardless of gender can live free from fear, harm, and discrimination.

The Unical Youth Friendly Hub made a lasting impact at the freshman orientation on November 20th-21st, reaching over 500 students with HIV screening and testing, and sparking conversations about health, wellness, and empowerment
By offering these essential services, the hub emphasized that knowing your status is the first step to living your best life.

🌍 Celebrating World Contraception Day at the UNICAL Youth-Friendly Hub
In proud collaboration with YOUCAN-B Initiative

We recently hosted a powerful and insightful event dedicated to raising awareness around contraceptive use focusing on both pregnancy prevention and protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among young adults and mothers.

This wasn’t just a seminar it was a conversation.
We shared knowledge, listened to real stories, and opened the floor for young voices to express their thoughts, questions, and concerns around contraception.

💊 From pills to devices, we explored safe, informed choices for healthier futures.
🗣️ Education met advocacy.
🤝 Community met impact.

Cleaning Up, Building Up!

Yesterday, the University of Calabar Youth-friendly Hub took part in the global World Cleanup Day initiative in collaboration with Plogging Nigeria. We came together to pick up trash, beautify our surroundings, and make a tangible impact on our environment.
The effort was collective, and the impact will be lasting.
