1. The deadline for accepting change of institution to FUDMA is Friday, 1st September 2023, by 12:00 AM.

2. The FUDMA PUTME Registration Portal will close on Sunday, 3rd September 2023, by 12:00 AM.

3. The final CBT examination for both scheduled applicants and absentees will take place on Monday, 4th September 2023, at 4:00 PM.

INTRODUCTION:
This is to invite all qualified candidates for the programmes of (Preliminary & Remedial studies) into the School of General and Preliminary Studies (SOGAPS), Federal University Dutsinma for 2016/2017 admission. For more information visit University website: www.fudutsinma.edu.ng

OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL:
Offer Pre-degree training for Preliminary students in Science, Arts and Social Sciences courses;
Offer training for Remedial students to remedy their ‘O’ level deficiency;
Assist SOGAPS students to gain admission direct into 100 level in Federal University Dutsinma; and
Make SOGAPS Students familiar with University system.
PROCEDURE FOR PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FORM
All interested candidates Both (Science, Arts and Social Sciences courses) who have interest to buy application form are advised to follow these procedures;

Candidates are to log on unto www.remita.net and:-
Click on the ‘PAY A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY’ box which redirects you to a new page
On the ‘Name of MDA’ box type FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSINMA
On the ‘Name of Service/Purpose’, click on the drop box and select ‘SOGAPS Application Form’ option.
On the ‘Description’ box type ‘SOGAPS Application Form’
On the ‘Amount to pay’ a non-refundable fee of five thousand three hundred naira (N5,300.00) only
On the purpose box type ‘SOGAPS Application Form’, complete the form and print. Proceed to any of the commercial banks and make payments through remita.
After payments, candidates are advised to come along with the evidence of payment from the bank for presentation to the University Bursary Department for collection of the original receipt on the screening exercise date.
SCREENING SCHEDULE:
CLOSING OF SALES ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:- 17th October, 2016
SCREENING DATE:- MONDAY, 17TH OCTOBER, 2016
VENUE: - FUDMA University Campus
TIME:- From 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
ELIGIBILITY:
For Preliminary studies: – A candidate should possess five (5) credits in Eng, Maths, and three subjects in any of the following courses: Science/Arts and Social Sciences courses.
For Remedial studies: – A candidate should possess at least three (3) credits in any of the following courses: Science/Arts and Social Sciences subjects.
All candidates both (Preliminary & Remedial) are to note that the screening exercise is for character, as well as for academic and biodata credentials.

However, candidates are required to make a payment for the sales of online Application Form from 15th September, to 17th October, 2016, and are to come along with the following for the screening:

Bank Payment Slip as evidence (Original & Photocopies) Write your GSM No. on top
Payment Receipt from Bursary Department (Original & Photocopy)
Note: Candidates without the above items will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise.

CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Bank draft and cash payment will not be accepted
Bags will not be allowed on campus beyond the security check point at the gate.

Registration Guidelines for Second Semester 2015/2016 Academic Session
Monday 02nd May 2016
The Senate of Federal University Dutsin-ma, has approved that academic activities for second semester 2015/2016 academic session commence on Monday 2nd May, 2016.

Registration for Returning Students commences on Monday 2nd – Friday 6th May, 2016.

Late Registration will be from Monday 9th – Monday 16th May, 2016.

Lectures for the semester will commence fully on Thursday 5th May, 2016.

Add/ Drop Period will be from Monday 23rd May - Friday 27th May, 2016.

ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR SECOND SEMESTER 2015/2016 ACADEMIC SESSION
Go to your department to confirm the approved number/combination of courses for the given semester.
Log in to http://portal.fudutsinma.edu.ng, and do the following:
Next, Click on “My Modules”
Then Click on “Course Outline”
Then Select “View” on the appropriate Semester Registration
You will find a list of Courses to be registered. Ensure that you select the check box next to each course you desire to register.
Click on “Register” below
Finally, click “Confirm” to confirm your registration. (Note that after confirmation, you can no longer make changes to your course selection).
After confirmation, Logout
After Semester Registration, Check back after 24hrs to see if your Registration has been approved.
Once approved, Go to your department and collect a signed copy of your registration form and preserve a copy for yourself.
Note:
All students are advised to STRICTLY adhere to this schedule.
S.I.W.E.S Students are also expected to register for S.I.W.E.S.

The Management of Federal University, Dutsin-Ma has decided on students resumption for the 2015/2016 Session as follows:
1). Students Return to the hostels: 5th & 6th December 2015.
2). Registration commences for all students : 7th December 2015 and lectures start on the 9th December 2015.
3). Registration closes for all fresh students: 16th December 2015.
4). Matriculation for all fresh students: 17th December 2015 (Note that there will be no more registration after the matriculation ceremony).
5). December break: 19th December 2015 to 3rd January 2016.
6). Lectures resume: 4th January 2016.

The Governing Council of the Federal University Dutsin-ma has declared that the tenure of the current Vice Chancellor will end on February 15, 2016 and invites applications from interested suitably qualified candidates.

1.0 ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
The Federal University Dutsin-ma is one of the twelve newly established Federal Universities in Nigeria, located in Dutsin-ma, Katsina State. The institution is ICT-driven, envisioned to be a top ranking, world-class University, committed to excellence in research and the production of generation of leaders with passion for service.

The mission of the University is to create knowledge, impart it to transform the human being, deploy it to grow the economy and solve local and global challenges, and do so in partnership and with integrity.

The institution commenced its academic activities in the 2011/2012 academic session and graduated its first set of students in July, 2015. All the 23 academic programmes on offer in the University were successfully accredited by the NUC at the very first attempt in 2015. Other evidence that the University is committed to excellence is revealed in the result of recent competitiveness rankings of Universities by Webometric. In this result FUDMA emerged at the 14th best University in Nigeria after barely 3 years of its existence.

2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive and the Academic Head of the University; he/she is the Chairman of the Senate and Congregation and member of the Governing Council. The Vice Chancellor shall among other duties:

Promote research, teaching and high standard of academic excellence;
Be responsible to Council for the maintenance of peace, law and order in the University;
Be competent at all times to advise the Council on all matters affecting the policy, finance and administration of the University;
Regulate the admission of students, subject to the guidelines and procedure approved by the Senate and other statutory bodies;
Be responsible for staff and students discipline and welfare in the University.

3.0 THE PERSON
Applicants for the position of Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutsin-ma must be distinguished scholars with outstanding academic and administrative records. He/she must be a proven manager of human and material resources. Specifically, the person

Must have spent not less than fifteen (15) years in the University, with at least 10 years experience as Professor with the ability to provide academic and administrative leadership for the University.
Should have a good understanding of the vision and mission of the University.
Be able to attract research grants and complimentary funds from local and international agencies, and further uplift the academic status of the University.
Possess personal integrity in the management of funds and be able to deploy financial resources as appropriate in the context of the University’s strategic plan.
Demonstrate interpersonal and team building skills and possess the ability to build bridges between staff, students and members of the university community and stakeholders.
Have demonstrable abilities to establish and maintain partnerships with local, international, government and non governmental agencies and organizations.
Be an individual who, judging from his/her track records, is likely to command the respect as well as the loyalty of members of staff and University Community.
Be able to demonstrate the ability to attract, motivate and retain highly skilled and talented staff (teaching and non-teaching).
Be able to exhibit entrepreneurial drive and ability to attract extra statutory funds and mobilize other resources for the development of the University.
Have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Should be in position to ensure the enforcement of the University’s laws and regulations.
Be information and technology proficient and be committed to the development of ICT into the University programmes and services.
Be of excellent physical and mental health.
Not be more than 65 years of age by 16th February, 2016 when the position is scheduled to be occupied.

4.0 TENURE AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The Vice Chancellor shall hold the Office for a single, non-renewable term of five (5) years. The remuneration and conditions of service for the post shall be as applicable in Federal Universities.

The candidate’s vision statement for the University during his/her tenure if appointed should be attached to the application.
