These are just a few words that capture the experience of the Global Generations Rising in Purpose (GRIP) event, recently hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at Redeemer’s University, in collaboration with the Woodhall Capital Foundation.

The event was a mix of insight, inspiration, and purpose, leaving our students energised and better equipped to navigate their futures with clarity and confidence.

We deeply appreciate Mrs Mojisola Hunponu-Wusu, President of Woodhall Capital Group, and Mr Viavo Hunponu-Wusu, Chairman of Woodhall Capital Foundation, for their generosity and the impactful time spent engaging with our students.

The Redeemer’s University Students’ Association (RUNSA) Legislative Council has held its Legislative Summit—a dynamic platform designed to expose students to the realities of youth participation in leadership and the critical role of citizen engagement in a thriving democracy.

The summit brought together distinguished policymakers and leaders, including Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, Honourable Speaker of the 8th Osun State House of Assembly (represented), alongside Hon. Prince Dr Kasope Ajibade Abolarin, Osun Central Senatorial Whip and Chairman, House Committee on Health; Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Irekandu), Chairman, House Committee on Innovation, Science and Technology; and Hon. Abiola Jeremiah Awoyeye, Chairman, House Committee on Youths, Sports and Special Needs.

Through insightful discussions and real-world perspectives, the summit empowered students with a deeper understanding of governance, legislative processes, and their role as active citizens in shaping the future.

Leading Redeemer's University academic, Ogundokun, bags 2nd Phd in Lithuania

An academic at Redeemer's University, Dr Roseline Ogundokun, has earned a second Doctor of Philosophy degree from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Kaunas, Lithuania.

She has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Science (Technological Sciences, Informatics Engineering – T 007) in the Department of Software Engineering.

The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer's University, Prof Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, ffan,fffps, lauded Dr Ogundokun for her achievements.

He said that her high-flying performance is a testament to the values of excellence and continuous improvement that are bred at Redeemer's University and for which the university is known.

In a post on her LinkedIn handle, Ogundokun recognised the special role and support from Redeemer's University in her journey.

She wrote: "I also appreciate the management of Redeemer’s University, particularly the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of FCDT, Head of Department, and all members, for their support and encouragement."

With a dissertation titled "Posture tracking methods on occluded video material," her research focused on robust posture tracking in occluded environments, with applications in healthcare monitoring, assisted living, workplace ergonomics, and intelligent surveillance.

Ogundokun has been recognised among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (2023–2025) with Google Scholar citations surpassing 4,000, with an h-index of 34 and an i10-index of 103.

Redeemer’s University secures full NUC accreditation across various programmes


Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has recorded an impressive performance in the latest accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), with the majority of its academic programmes earning full accreditation status.

The results, conveyed in an official communication to the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, ffan, fffps and signed by Engineer Abraham Chudunsu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, followed the NUC’s October/November 2025 nationwide accreditation of academic programmes in Nigerian universities, carried out in line with statutory provisions guiding minimum academic standards.

"This outcome highlights Redeemer’s University’s consistent investment in academic infrastructure, faculty development, and programme relevance, positioning it as a competitive player within Nigeria’s higher education landscape," the vice-chancellor noted.

He described the results as a testament to strategic leadership and a reaffirmation of Redeemer’s University's mission to deliver globally competitive education.

According to the report, several key programmes in Redeemer's University across its faculties attained full accreditation, underscoring the institution’s sustained commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and adherence to NUC standards.

In the Faculty of Management Sciences, Actuarial Science, Marketing, and Public Administration all secured full accreditation.

Similarly, in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, flagship programmes including Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Physiotherapy were fully accredited, while Public Health received interim status.

The Faculty of Humanities also recorded success, with English and Philosophy both earning full accreditation.

The newest faculty, the Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology, the Cyber Security and Information Technology programmes were fully accredited, reflecting the university’s growing strength in digital and technology-driven disciplines.

Further reinforcing its academic depth, the institution achieved full accreditation in Environmental Management and Toxicology, Industrial Mathematics and Computer Science, and Statistics and Data Science within the Faculty of Science.

In the Faculty of Built Environment, Building Technology and Urban and Regional Planning were likewise fully accredited.

The Faculty of Social Sciences programmes also performed strongly, with Psychology and Social Work attaining full accreditation status.

The NUC noted that full accreditation status is valid for a period of five years, signifying that the programmes have met all required standards in terms of curriculum, staffing, facilities, and overall academic delivery.

Today, at Redeemer's University, we were delighted to have the Chairman of SEAP Holdings, Pastor Dr Olatunde Oladokun, as Guest Speaker for the 3rd Faculty of Social Sciences Annual Lecture.

Pastor Oladokun, leader of the formidable 26-year-old Self-Reliance Economic Advancement Programme (SEAP), a micro-finance institution with more than 2,500 full-time employees, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the theme:
“Social Capital in the 21st Century: A Valuable Source of Wealth for Financial Sustainability in Nigeria.”

Drawing from rich personal experiences and practical insights, he illuminated the power of social capital as a strategic asset for wealth creation and long-term financial sustainability.

It was another joyful moment today at Redeemer’s University as we welcomed another cherished member of the family of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) — the Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries (CRM) Zonal Coordinator for Osun State, Pastor Theophilus Akinpelu, and his team.

During the visit, Pastor Akinpelu briefed the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele,ffan,fffps, on plans to host the 2026 Zonal Congress of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF) and Redeemed Christian Corpers’ Fellowship (RCCF), scheduled to take place on our campus from June 19 to 21, 2026.

The change of guard in Redeemer's University Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society was officially welcomed by our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, ffan,fffps, as the newly elected executives paid him a courtesy visit on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor offered prayers for a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that the new leadership will move the society forward. He also charged the executives to strengthen revenue generation and manage the society’s resources with the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and transparency.

Led by the President, Mr Joseph Ale-Daniel, the newly elected team reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing members' welfare while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the university management.

This transition marks a renewed focus on growth, trust, and shared prosperity within the cooperative community.
