Federal Polytechnic Ede wins Best Polytechnic in Research and Development Year Award 2025. The award was presented today Thursday 27 Nov. 2027 by IARSA (International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators) at a colourful ceremony held at Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama Abuja.

This award represents a significant milestone for staff and students of the institution and a unique testament to the quality of leadership by Rector/CEO of the institution, Engr. Dr. Sanni Man Yahya.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Instituion are the following members of management:

The Governing Council of The Federal Polytechnic Ede, at its 71st regular meeting held on Thursday, 30th July 2025, approved the appointments of Alhaji Sanusi Ayantoye Rafiu as Substantive Registrar and Mrs Aishat Shade Adebayo as substantive Bursar respectively

Until his appointment, the new Registrar is the Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs at The Federal Polytechnic, Ede, while the new Bursar is presently the Chief Accountant, School of Business Administration and Management at The Federal Polytechnic, Ede

The appointments are for five (5) years single term, while the appointments take effect from Monday, 1st September, 2025

The Management on behalf of the Governing Council, Staff and Students Congratulates them and wishes the new Principal Officers a successful tenure of office.

Federal Polytechnic Ede records her first Patent

A Team of Researchers from Federal Polytechnic Ede, led by the erudite scholar, Dr. Ben Festus, FISLT, a member of the Federal Polytechnic Ede Alumni Association, have invented the world's first smart cooling device for last-mile delivery, codenamed CoolTech. The device is the first self-powered, portable and eco-friendly cooling unit to incorporate renewable energy solutions. The device is industry 4.0 compliant integrating features for real-time and remote monitoring of essential parameters and, for self-regulating of the cooling temperature to stay within the recommended 2 to 8 oC temperature range and robust algorithm for predictive data analytics.

The invention which has been registered at the National Register is the first from the Federal Polytechnic Ede, since it's establishment in 1992. This invention is a testament to the quality of knowledge being taught at the Polytechnic. Dr. Ben and his team after a rigorous section exercise emerged one of the successful finalists shortlisted by the TETFund NRF Committee to attend and exhibit their invention at the MAIDEN TETFUND NATIONAL EXHIBITION scheduled from 18 to 21st Nov. 2024 at the Eagles square in Abuja. The team will officially launch CoolTech to the world even as they seek to engage stakeholders in the healthcare sector through sustainable partnership and collaboration to commercialize this home-grown solution. Other members of the team include Dr. Yusuf Talia Ola, the Director R&D, and Mr. Oke Timothy, an alumni of the Federal Polytechnic Ede.
