GOMBE STATE UNIVERSITY HOSTS MAIDEN EID AL-ADHA PRAYER ON CAMPUS

In the spirit of Eid al-Adha and gratitude to Almighty Allah, Gombe State University has once again recorded a remarkable milestone with the successful conduct of its first-ever Eid prayer on campus, a historic gathering that united members of the university community in worship, reflection, peace, and brotherhood.
The historic congregational Eid prayer was led by the Chief Imam of the Gombe State University Central Masjid, Professor Dahiru Inuwa Ibrahim, with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, and other distinguished members of the university management present.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rasheed Abdulganiy; Director, Institute of Education, Professor Muhammed Gurama Dukku; President of the Gombe State University Muslim Ummah, Professor Usman Bala; as well as professors, staff, students, and members of the wider university community.
The maiden Eid prayer on campus marked a significant chapter in the history of the university, reflecting Gombe State University’s enduring commitment to spiritual growth, moral excellence, peaceful coexistence, and community engagement. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude, unity, and the sacred spirit of Eid, as worshippers gathered to glorify Allah and celebrate the values of sacrifice, compassion, and togetherness which define Eid al-Adha.
Speaking after the prayer, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the university community the opportunity to witness and participate in the memorable occasion. He commended members of the university community for their unity, discipline, and collective support in ensuring the success of the historic maiden Eid prayer. He further prayed for continued peace, progress, and divine blessings upon Gombe State University, Gombe State, and Nigeria at large.
The successful hosting of the Eid prayer further demonstrates the spirit of harmony, mutual respect, and Islamic values that continue to strengthen Gombe State University.
