INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS
The Huda University Gusau (HUG) was licensed in 2023, in line with the provisions of the Education Act (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions), which allowed individuals, persons and organizations other than the Federal Government to establish universities. HUG invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following academic positions:
A. FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
Department of Accounting (Accounting and Taxation)
Senior Lecturer: Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting with at least seven (7) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer I). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals and be members of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA and CIMA-UK.
Lecturer I: Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting with at least four (4) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). Applicants must have acceptable number of publications in reputable learned journals and be members of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA and CIMA-UK.
Lecturer II: Candidates should possess good first degree and M.Sc. Accounting (Ph.D. Grade). Candidates must have evidence of progress made in Ph.D. Accounting programme and membership of relevant professional accounting bodies like ICAN, ACCA and CIMA-UK.
Department of Political Science
Senior lecturer/Lecturer I/ Lecturer II: Applicants should possess B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in International Relations with specialization and research interest in Relevant Fields. For those without the Ph.D., applicants must show evidence of registration for Ph.D. degree programme with specialization in Comparative Politics.
Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer II: Applicants should possess B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Political Sciences with specialization and research interest in Relevant Fields. For those without the Ph.D., applicants must show evidence of registration for Ph.D. degree programme with specialization in Comparative Politics.
Department of Public Administration
Lecturer I: Applicants for the position of Lecturer I must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least five (5) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarship He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 5 publications. Applicants must have been Lecturer II for a minimum of three (3) years. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.
Lecturer II: Applicants for the position of Lecturer II must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with three (3) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarship He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 2 publications. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.
Assistant Lecturer: Applicant must possess a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline from a reputable University with an evidence of Ph.D registration.
Department of Economics
Senior Lecturer: Applicants for the position of a Senior Lecturer must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least seven (7) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 15 publications. Applicants must have been Lecturer I for a minimum of three (3) years. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.
Lecturer I: Applicants for the position of Lecturer I must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least five (5) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. B. FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND COMPUTING
Department of Biological Sciences (Microbiology)
Senior Lecturer: Applicants for the position of a Senior Lecturer must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least seven (7) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 15 publications. Applicants must have been Lecturer I for a minimum of three (3) years. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.
Lecturer I: Applicants for the position of Lecturer I must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least five (5) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. Department of Chemical Sciences (Petroleum Chemistry and Biochemistry)

C. FACULTY OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES
Department of Nursing
Senior Lecturer: Applicants for the position of a Senior Lecturer must possess a Ph.D degree in relevant discipline with at least seven (7) years post qualification experience in teaching and research in a University system. He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 15 publications. Applicants must have been Lecturer I for a minimum of three (3) years. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.

He/she must show evidence of scholarships and track record of outstanding research with at least 15 publications. Applicants must have been Lecturer I for a minimum of three (3) years. He/she must be computer literate, have a good understanding of Information & Communication Technology and must be a member of the regulating professional bodies.
