COMR. ABDULSBASIT BOLAJI ESAN ADDRESS SPEECH TO ALL MATRICULATED STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

Fellow students, and most importantly, our newly matriculated freshers of the Faculty of Engineering,
Accept my heartfelt welcome to you all.

You have taken your oath and are now official students of FUOYE, a top-tier university. More importantly, you have joined the Faculty of Engineering, a hub of innovation, creativity, and problem-solving. You are here to learn how to shape the future. You are our future engineers, innovators, and nation-builders.

As your Faculty President, I want to share some guidance on how to make the most of your five-year journey here:

Focus on your academics. Consistency and dedication will carry you farther than talent alone. Attend your lectures, engage with your coursework, and prepare ahead. Don’t wait for exams to catch up.

Ask questions, seek help, and collaborate. Engineering thrives on teamwork. Your peers, lecturers, and NUESA are all here to support you. Use this support to grow, learn, and overcome challenges.

Get involved. Participate in clubs, competitions, workshops, and other opportunities. Your degree will equip you with knowledge, but your experiences will shape your skills, your character, and your future.

Manage your time wisely. Balance academics, social life, and personal well-being. Five years can be long, but it is also fleeting make every moment count.

Above all, believe in yourself. You were admitted because you have potential, and these five years are yours to shape, explore, and excel. Stay committed, stay curious, and stay resilient.
