INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Nubian American Advanced College has no limit to International Student Admission students who wish to register for any of our programs are free to do so following the admission guidelines
General Admission Procedures for International Students are as follows:
1. An application submitted online through the www.nubianaacollege.org/admission/international, or see the Office of Admissions and Registration for a paper application – no later than 60 days prior to the start of the semester of first attendance.
2. Submit notarized Affidavit of Support form dated within 6 months of beginning of the semester.
3. Submit support evidence statement (bank statement)
4. Submit official high school transcripts, including a graduation date (or official college transcripts if transferring from another accredited institution).
Once your application has been transmitted, it will be processed within 72 hours. Processing time may vary during peak registration periods.
After your application has been processed at NAAC, you will receive a very important Admission Letter. This letter will contain your NAAC ID, to identify your declared major pathway, and include a “Check List” of all the items needed, to complete your admission file (and get you ready to register for classes).
Once all the admissions items have been submitted, you’ll receive a second letter with access information to SIS (Student Portal) and other important program information.
The applicant is responsible to supply truthful and complete information throughout the admissions process and on all documents submitted. If the College discovered that information provided by the candidate is based upon inaccurate, or incorrect, the student may be denied further consideration for the admission.

Tuition and Fees
Nubian American Advanced College has a strong commitment to ensuring accessibility to all of its programs and services to all students who are capable of benefiting from such programs and services. A limited number of related services, which the student uses shall be supported by fees charged to students to assist in defraying the costs of providing these services.
The mandatory general student fee will be assessed at the time of registration. Students who do not pay this required fee at the time of registration may be subsequently dropped from classes, and grades, transcripts, and diplomas will be withheld, and future registration restricted.
Students who are not dropped from courses for non-payment are still liable for all fees unless the student drops the courses by the published refund deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to pay all fees or to drop themselves from their courses by the deadline dates. All fees, including any optional fees, such as Student Activities Fee, etc, that may have been requested at the time of registration must be paid by the deadline.
Students on a waitlist for a class must check their Nubian American Advanced College (NAAC) email daily to find out if they have been admitted to the class. If students are admitted to a class from the waitlist, they must pay those class fees on or before the next scheduled deadline or they will be dropped from all classes, including those already paid for. It is the student’s responsibility to keep informed of his or her waitlist status and to pay any fees due by the scheduled deadlines.

Admission Requirements
Admission into the College credit studies is open to all applicants (National and International Students). Any person over the age of 16 who meets at least one of the requirements of regular admission shall be admitted. All applicants, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, or handicap, are given equal consideration for admission. If an applicant does not place into the desired courses, Nubian American Advanced College offers introductory courses which provide the opportunity to develop sufficient background and subsequently enter the desired course/program. Admission to the College however does not imply admission to all programs.

ACADEMIC ADVISING FOR NEW STUDENTS
Each new student is encouraged to have an advising session with an academic Counsellor. The session includes guidance in selecting an appropriate plan of study, reviewing students’ progress on the core curriculum, reviewing major eligibility, discussing applicable academic policies, making individualized course recommendations, and providing other appropriate guidance.

The academic counselor will use information (e.g., high school transcripts, assessment scores, and other evaluative data) to assist a student in pursuing a program consistent with the student’s educational goals and level of preparation. Students should use the SIS (student portal) and/or maintain contact with their Enrolment Specialist throughout their studentship.

PLAN FOR SUCCESS AT Nubian American Advanced College.
Each student is responsible for being adequately informed about the requirements for their desired degree and that the courses in which they enroll will meet the degree requirements. To gain a total college experience, students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with NAAC’s campus, services, activities, and resources. NAAC school and academic counselors, as well as family and peers, can all be valuable sources of information and referral. Students should become familiar with the Student Handbook, Class Schedule, and this College Catalog. Students are also encouraged to participate in programs, classes, and activities that help them develop and grow academically.

Nubian American Advanced College's Libary Services.
The Nubian American Advanced College has virtual and physical libraries.

Library Services are provided to support the college curriculum on the campuses. library loan service, periodicals, online journals, magazines, video, and audio cassette tapes, books, online searching, and library orientation tours are all available. An automated circulation system and online public access terminals help provide for ease in checking out materials and in searching for needed information.

A current NAAC Student identification card is used as the library card to check out NAAC library materials. A Student without a current NAAC Student identification card should inform a Library Staff member. After verification of Student records, borrowing privileges will be approved. Continuing Education Students may also request a library card which will be valid for the duration of the program. A tuition receipt is needed to verify the registration. The resources of the NAAC Libraries include over 50,000 books, 100 periodical subscriptions, and 3,000 audio-visual items.

ONLINE LIBRARY SERVICES
Nubian American Advanced College libraries also subscribe to thousands of e-books and over 70 online databases to provide access to millions of multi-disciplinary and full-text publications, peer-reviewed journals, and academic streaming video collections. A registered Student can log in remotely to our subscription databases seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day through the NAAC Libraries Webpage https://buff.ly/3ocE71u .
The libraries provide photocopiers, microfilm reader/printer services, and computer workstations with internet access. The Nubian American Advanced College Open Computer Laboratory is located in the library. The laboratory is equipped with an adequate number of computer workstations that are compliant with the Americans and Nigerians with Disabilities Act. One library Staff member is available at the laboratory service desk to assist students during library hours.

CHECK-OUTS
Library materials may be checked out for 14 days. Materials may not be held during the intersession between semesters. All materials should be returned to the main circulation desks. Materials returned after 4:00 p.m. through the outside book drops will be considered as turned in on the following day and fines, if any, will be charged.

LIBRARY FINES
The Library and Learning Resource Center (LLRC) has a one-month loan period for books with the option to renew materials for an additional month. At the end of the loan period, materials that have not been returned or renewed are considered overdue. The LLRC charges 2$ per day for each overdue book.
When a book is reported lost or long overdue the user is charged for the replacement cost and assessed a $13 processing fee. Overdue notices are sent through E-mail. A “flag” or hold, is placed on a Student record when fines are owed. Students may not register for classes or receive transcripts until their accounts are settled.
The physical Library is between the office opening hours and closing hours.

Communications happen always in Canvas, but everyone can receive notifications however they choose. Special attention here is the last part where Canvas shows how a teacher can send a message to a whole group and even to only a student who has still not delivered their assignments). The mobile application is robust and incredibly convenient, allowing all-the-same functionality as the desktop version. Students can even take online quizzes and finals using their internet-connected mobile device (Smartphone). STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS

Extra-curricular activities provide students with opportunities for the development and expression of special interests and abilities, for acquiring social graces, for practicing the mechanics of group action, for developing leadership, and for recreation. Multicultural affairs allow the Student body to experience different cultures that co-exist in the world around them.

All Student organizations and activities conform to the educational objectives and administrative regulations of the College. These organizations are approved by the Vice President of Student Affairs and are sponsored by a Staff member. Participation in certain Student activities requires enrollment in a credit course and, in some cases, auditions or approval of the Instructor. Included in these categories are the NAAC Pioneer Band, Choir, Chamber Singers, and Inter-Collegiate athletics.
