The conversation we had few weeks ago before we travelled for ASUU strike was quite intriguing, didactic and most importantly life changing. The discussion was with my friend who were obviously from different disciplines in the campus - Science education, English and literary studies, history, law and sociology. And the students who were from these department are believed to be studying "man". Our discussion dawned on realities that are before man and the disillusionment of what is obtainable. We seemed to have forgotten swiftly how floundering Nigerian educational system is and it's effect on serious Nigerian students. One with the result is always the winner, but with a proper scrutiny there's always a reason behind the other downfall.
I may not be straight to the point, that's the truth, but I believe I'm making a big sense.
Isn't it ostensible that we've been disillusioned that making a good grade is a sure way to success?
I've had the experience of a scenario where my lecturer called the names of some students who did well in his course; maybe he wanted to show the class how people who scored an A in his course look like, because I knew verily even before I came to the university that examination is not the true test of knowledge. So, to me it's not exhilarating neither did it taught me anything more than being skeptical of who I thought he was, I thought he was wise until that act.
I was right. They needed new answer, I mean my friends and so did I. My parents' advice may have worked for people who were born during the days of Prof. Chukwu and his colleagues, but it maybe disastrous for those of us born into a rapidly changing world.
't get me wrong #
