Hiring: Senior Network Engineer at Felak Group of Companies

Location : Abuja, Nigeria

As Senior Network Engineer, you will be:
• Design, implement, and manage the network infrastructure and systems for
our ISP services
• Configure and maintain ISP-specific equipment like routers, switches, and
firewalls
• Collaborate with teams to ensure optimal network performance and reliability
• Develop and enforce network security policies to protect customer data
• Manage vendor relationships related to ISP infrastructure
• Monitor traffic, identify issues, and implement optimizations
• Troubleshoot complex problems and provide timely resolutions
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulations
• Work in close partnership with the management team to enhance and automate key processes, and to developand enhance product, management, and other reporting, targeting both efficiency and scale
• Ease error rates and mitigate risk through the adoption of appropriate controls, process documentation, cross training, and process improvement
• Ensure data integrity for all standardized and customizable reporting
• Assist in implementing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Ensure timely deliverables of all reports
• Any other assignment that would be required of you by Management.

One of the probable reasons your CV is not getting you interviews is that you are more interested in listing your technical skills, educational background, and certifications.

I recently discovered that many interviewers are more interested in your “soft skills” and how you have used them in your previous work experiences. But most of us just list our soft skills without showing them.

Instead of just stating on your CV that you are a team player, a great communicator or that you have leadership skills, you need to use action words in describing what you have achieved with those skills.

These descriptions should be highlighted under what you did in your previous workplace.

Here are a few examples to guide you:

1. To show critical thinking as a skill, use action words like Analyze, Design, and Implement. (E.g. Analyzed customer data to design a new workflow for the UX team)

2. To show time management as a skill, use words like Prioritize, Delegate, and Meet Deadlines. (E.g. Managed multiple client projects through consistent prioritization and delegation)

3. To show communication as a skill, use words like Presenting, Negotiating, and Engagement. (E.g. Facilitate and present monthly training to the customer service team)

4. To show leadership as a skill, use words like Mentor, Lead and Manage. (E.g. Designed and led the implementation of quarterly objectives for XYZ project)

5. To show teamwork as a skill, you should use words like Collaborate, Support, and Contribute. (E.g. Collaborated with the marketing team to create relevant social media communication for XYZ product.)

These are one of the key things that make your CV look professional and prove that you have real experience which will get any interviewer wanting to talk to you.

Please note that you can use this even as a fresh graduate. Just ensure that you have engaged yourself in lots of volunteering experiences and other relevant projects that allowed you to express it.
