Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Turns 10! 🎉

This year marks a remarkable milestone. 10 years of shaping free knowledge, amplifying Nigerian voices, and driving impact across the Wikimedia movement.

To celebrate a decade of dedication, collaboration, and community, we’re thrilled to launch our 10th Anniversary Media Campaign, a 10-day online celebration packed with fun activities, storytelling, and thrilling competitions offering amazing rewards!

2. 20/09: Did You Know? Trivia Quiz
3. 21/09: Faces in the Movement
4. 22/09: Impact in Numbers
5. 23/09: Throwback Photo Quiz
6. 24/09: Our Voices (featuring short video clips by community members on their Twitter/X accounts sharing their journey in the movement — top 3 with the most engagement win cash prizes)
7. 25/09: Nigeria on the Map
8. 26/09: Landmark Projects
9. 27/09: Partners Exhibition
10. 28/09: The Next Decade

📌 Participation Guidelines:
* The campaign will run only on Facebook, Twitter (X), and Instagram.
* WUGN staff are not eligible to participate in the competitions.
* Only followers will be eligible for the cash prizes
* All posts will go live at the same time each day to ensure fairness.
* No winner will be selected on the WhatsApp platform; instead, the organizer will use it daily to share information about the contest.
* If someone emerges first on two platforms, the timestamp will determine which platform counts.
* Several of the events will feature cash prizes for winners across the platforms.

Did you know that Nigeria's first storey building is located in Badagry, Lagos State?

Built in 1845 by Methodist missionaries, this historic landmark served as a school, hospital, and even a refuge during the Yoruba wars!

Today, it stands as a museum, showcasing Nigeria's rich history and cultural heritage!

The first storey building in Nigeria was built by the early missionaries of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) between 1842 and 1845. It is one of the tourism sites in Badagry.[1][2][3][4]

As the President of Kwara State University Wikimedia Fan Club, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Wikimedia User Group Nigeria (WUGN) for hosting a successful Leaders Retreat!

We Kwara State University Wikimedia Fan Club appreciate the warm welcome, hospitality, and care shown to our representative throughout the event. The retreat was a brilliant idea, and we're grateful for the dedication, listening ears, and support provided to fan club and network leaders.

The event was informative, colorful, and featured:

- Leadership training
- Finance training
- Digital training
- Historical tour of Badagri, Lagos

We'd also like to thank fellow leaders who made the retreat enjoyable and memorable. Your camaraderie and willingness to learn were inspiring!
