THE HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
1. Introduction
The wind of evangelism that has been blowing across this nation Nigeria, led to the emergence of various and numerous Church denominations and Evangelical ministries. A visible manifestation of the impact of this wind is the establishment of Christ Reconciliation Evangelistic Ministry International (CREMI) inaugurated in 1992. A ministry committed to the
preaching of Christ crucified (1 Cor. 1:23) as vision. It has the enlistment of men and women into a formidable army of Christ who will “go ye” as goal (Matt. 19, 20). With a progressive trend in development, it is quite glaring that there is the need for the establishment of a standard evangelistic and missionary training center for the equipping and preparation of men into the ministry in various capacities. This mission will help to fulfill the vision afore-mentioned. While it could be rightly said, that the establishment of the school was necessitated by the circumstance as mentioned above, let it be known that far beyond this, it is a school that will serve the whole world irrespective of denomination or race, in producing seasoned and spiritually equipped, Evangelists, Pastors, Church workers and Christian Educators and as the Ministry’s humble contribution towards the fulfillment of “the Great Commission”. CREMI Theological College is introduced to the reader as having a very humble beginning, but also with a big aspiration for spiritual, moral and academic excellence. It is a place where men and women all over the world meet and face the vision and call of God and would meet and face the challenges of proven Christian life and ministries. It is a place that opens the students to numerous opportunities; a comprehensive Bible education with emphasis on growing in God’s grace and personal application of His word, encouraging the students toward responsible leadership and involvement; through periodic seminars and workshops that will help the students to cultivate Biblical insight to further enhance the student’s Christian life-style and services.
2. Philosophy
“Christ Reconciliation Evangelistic Ministries International” (CREMI) realized the necessity of expanding its services to meet the needs of Christians who wanted to further their Biblical education but without opportunity. The ministry also notes that there was a need for leadership training in the Christian community. Thus in 1997 “CREMI” took the responsibility of providing good and sound education programs by commissioning Christ School of Theology (now CREMI Theological College) precisely on the 2nd of July, it was a mission within the vision of God for CREMI. Our goal is to encourage a life-style that pleases God and reflects a positive witness. To achieve this, the basic educational philosophy that under-guards the life and operation of the institute is adopted, that is, acknowledgement of Jesus as Savior and Lord of the total man and the proclamation of the salvation of man.
3. Objectives
CREMI Theological College is committed to clearly presenting the word of God in order to achieve the following objectives:
1. To motivate students to a life of commitment through service to God and to the course of Christ. To promote the acquisition of a comprehensive knowledge of the bible and a clear understanding of Christian doctrines so that the graduates of the college will be able to:
