The development of self-discipline is the high road that makes everything possible for you.
Self-discipline is the key to personal greatness.
It is the magic quality that opens all doors for you and
makes everything else possible. With self-discipline, the
average person can rise as far and as fast as his talents
and intelligence can take him. But without self-discipline,
a person with every blessing of background, education,
and opportunity will seldom rise above mediocrity

*The first rule of success is simple: Vote yourself off the island!*
*No more excuses!* Do it or don’t do it—but don’t make
excuses. Do anything. Get on with it! Repeat
to yourself: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!”
Losers make excuses; winners make progress. Now,
how can you tell if your favorite excuse is valid or not?
It’s simple. Look around and ask, “Is there anyone else
who has my same excuse who is successful anyway?”
When you ask this question, if you are honest, you will
have to admit that there are thousands and even millions
of people who have had it far worse than you have who
have gone on to do wonderful things with their lives. And
what thousands and millions of others have done, you
can do as well—if you try.
It has been said that if people put as much energy into
achieving their goals as they spend making up excuses for
failure, they would actually surprise themselves. But first,
you have to vote yourself off the island.

*The chief topic of conversation on Someday Island? Excuses!*
They all sit around and swap excuses for being on the island.
*“Why are you here?” they ask each other.*
Not surprising, their excuses are largely the same:
“I didn’t have a happy childhood,” “I didn’t get a good/ education,” “I didn’t get a good job,” “I don’t have any money,” “My boss is really critical,” “My marriage is no good,” “No one appreciates me,” or “The economy is terrible.”
*They have come down with the disease of “excusitis,”*
which is invariable fatal to success. They all have good
intentions, but as everyone knows, “The road to hell is
paved with good intentions.”

“We say that ‘Someday I’ll read that book.
Someday I’ll start that that business.
Someday I’ll upgrade my Skills. Someday I’ll get my finances under control and get out of debt.
Somebody I will build a house.
Someday I’ll do all those things that I know I need to do to achieve all my goals.
*Someday! Someday!! Someday!!!*
Most people live on Someday Island most of the time. They think and dream and fantasize about all the things they are going to do or want to achieve in life “someday.”

Are you discipline enough to pay the price to do what you need to do and never to give up until you achieved it?
Friends, stop demanding from life if you are not discipline enough to pay the price.

*HOW CAN I HAVE ASSURANCE OF MY SALVATION?*
The assurance of salvation is, simply put, knowing for sure that you are saved. Many Christians throughout history have written about their struggles in being assured of their salvation. The problem is that many followers of Jesus Christ look for the assurance of salvation in the wrong places.
We tend to seek assurance of salvation in the things God is doing in our lives, in our spiritual growth, in the good works and obedience to God’s Word that is evident in our Christian walk. While these things can be evidence of salvation, they are not what we should base the assurance of our salvation on. Rather, we should find the assurance of our salvation in the objective truth of God’s Word. We should have confident trust that we are saved based on the promises God has declared, not because of our subjective experiences.
*How can you have assurance of salvation?* Consider 1 John 5:11–13: “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (emphasis added). Who is it that has the Son? It is those who have believed in Him (John 1:12). If you have Jesus, you have life. Not temporary life, but eternal. And, according to 1 John 5:13, you can know that you have this eternal life.
God wants us to have assurance of our salvation. We should not live our Christian lives wondering and worrying each day whether we are truly saved. That is why the Bible makes the plan of salvation so clear. Believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Acts 16:31). Do you believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sins and rose again from the dead (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)? Do you trust Him alone for salvation? If your answer to these questions is “yes,” you are saved! Assurance means freedom from doubt. By

*Two Common objections to the belief that a Christian can lose salvation concern these experiential issues:*
What about Christians who live in a sinful, unrepentant lifestyle.
What about Christians who reject the faith and deny Christ? *The problem with these objections is the assumption that everyone who calls himself a “Christian” has actually been born again.* The Bible declares that a true Christian will not live a state of continual, unrepentant sin (1 John 3:6). The Bible also says that anyone who departs the faith is demonstrating that he was never truly a Christian (1 John 2:19). He may have been religious, he may have put on a good show, but he was never born again by the power of God. “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16). The redeemed of God belong “to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God” (Romans 7:4).
Nothing can separate a child of God from the Father’s love (Romans 8:38–39). Nothing can remove a Christian from God’s hand (John 10:28–29). God guarantees eternal life and maintains the salvation He has given us. The Good Shepherd searches for the lost sheep, and, “when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home” (Luke 15:5–6). The lamb is found, and the Shepherd gladly bears the burden; our Lord takes full responsibility for bringing the lost one safely home.
Jude 24–25 further emphasizes the goodness and faithfulness of our Savior: “To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! *CAN A CHRISTIAN LOSE SALVATION?*
First, the term Christian must be defined. A “Christian” is not a person who has said a prayer or been raised in a Christian family. While each of these things can be a part of the Christian experience, they are not what makes a Christian.
*A Christian is a person who has fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and therefore possesses the Holy Spirit* (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8–9).
*Can a Christian lose salvation?* .The best way to answer it is to examine what the Bible says occurs at salvation and to study what losing salvation would entail:
*A Christian is a new creation.* “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). *A Christian is not simply an “improved” version of a person; a Christian is an entirely new creature.* He is “in Christ.” For a Christian to lose salvation, the new creation would have to be destroyed.
*A Christian is redeemed.* “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:18–19). The word redeemed refers to a purchase being made, a price being paid. We were purchased at the cost of Christ’s death. For a Christian to lose salvation, God Himself would have to revoke His purchase of the individual for whom He paid with the precious blood of Christ.
*A Christian is justified.* “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). To justify is to declare righteous. All those who receive Jesus as Savior are “declared righteous” by God. For a Christian to lose salvation, God would have to go back on His Word and “un-declare” what He had previously declared. *WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN?*
The classic passage from the Bible that answers this question is John 3:1-21. The Lord Jesus Christ is talking to Nicodemus, a prominent Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin (the ruling body of the Jews). Nicodemus had come to Jesus at night with some questions.
As Jesus talked with Nicodemus, He said, “‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’ ‘How can a man be born when he is old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again”’” (John 3:3-7).
The phrase "born again" literally means "born from above." Nicodemus had a real need. He needed a change of his heart—a spiritual transformation. New birth, being born again, is an act of God whereby eternal life is imparted to the person who believes (2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1-4, 18). John 1:12, 13 indicates that being "born again" also carries the idea of "becoming children of God" through trust in the name of Jesus Christ.
The question logically comes, "Why does a person need to be born again?" The apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says, "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins" (NKJV). To the Romans he wrote, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Sinners are spiritually “dead”; when they receive spiritual life through faith in Christ, the Bible likens it to a rebirth. Only those who are born again have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God.
*How does that come to be?* Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast
