natural sciences and plays a profound role in ot
her branches of science and engineering. It provides the basic conceptual and theoretical framework on which all other sciences
are influenced and formulated. Therefore, each field of science must in some way pay
tribute to physics. (a) Philosophy
The programme is to train students and eventually produce graduates that are
well-grounded in both theoretical knowledge and experimental skills in physics,
ready and capable for further academic studies, work in industries, academic
institutions, research centres or other creative pursuits. (b)Objectives
(i) To provide the student with a broad and balanced foundation of Physics
knowledge and practical skills. (ii) To develop in students the ability to apply their knowledge and skills in Physics to
the solution of theoretical and practical problems. (iii) To develop in students, through education in Physics, a range of transferable
skills of value and other areas. (iv) To inculcate in the students the habit of being time consciousness, dedication to
work, honesty and respect for law and order.
