We read a lot about tech companies founded by university drop outs. But the data tells a different story.

Only 4% of the founders of billion dollar tech companies are college drop outs.

96% have a degree

60% have a Masters degree or higher

22% have a PhD

This is why data is so important, otherwise ignorance will be projected as wisdom.

This same narrative goes for the popular belief that becoming a billionaire at a relatively young age is not an exception. Whereas, the average billionaire is 66, and the oldest person in the ranks is 102. “Of the 3,194 billionaires worldwide in 2022, nearly half were between 50 and 70 years old. Moreover, more than 40 percent were above 70 years, whereas only 10 percent were below 50 years” - Statista data says.

Moral of these posts:

1. Education is not a scam. Get degrees; if you so desire.
2. You can still be a billionaire, if that’s your life’s goal 🙂
