REVIEW OF BOARDING FEE IN LAGOS MODEL COLLEGES, INEVITABLE - MINISTRY

The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in a statement released today, has stated that, it is aware a few parents have shown some concern about the inevitable increase in boarding fees in the State model colleges. Which, obviously has not been an easy decision to make.

The Ministry in the release, reassures all parents, that the welfare of their Children remains a top priority. Noting that the Lagos State Government continues to provide free education in 1,021 Primary schools, 369 Junior Secondary and 329 Senior Secondary schools which include the 32 model colleges across the State, which are Boarding Schools, except, Vetland Junior and Senior Secondary Schools.

The Statement also explained that enrolment of a child into a Boarding School is an individual choice of every parent, and as such, they are expected to pay boarding fees at the beginning of every school term.

CAREFULLY LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN: "ES**RT, SEE OFF & ACCOMPANY":

1. ES**RT: To go with someone for protection, guidance, or as a formality. It often implies a sense of duty, security or formality.

EXAMPLE:
👉 The security team ES**RTED the celebrity to her car.
👉 The officer ES**RTED the prisoner to the courthouse.
👉 The waiter ES**RTED us to our table.
👉 The bodyguards ES**RTED the president to the podium.
👉 The nurse ES**RTED the patient out of the hospital, etc.

2. SEE OFF: To say goodbye to someone who is leaving, typically by accompanying them to a departure point like an airport, station, or door.

EXAMPLES:
👉 I went to the airport to SEE my friend OFF before her flight to Japan.
👉 The entire family gathered at the train station to SEE OFF their grandparents.
👉 He SAW OFF his guests at the door after the party ended.
👉 They went to the harbor to SEE OFF the sailors heading on a long voyage.
👉 We all went to SEE OFF our colleague who was moving to a different city, etc.
3. ACCOMPANY: To go along with someone, either for support, as a companion, or to share in an activity. It doesn't imply protection or saying goodbye, just being together.

EXAMPLE:
👉 The ACCOMPANIED me to the concert.
👉 The teacher ACCOMPANIED the students on their field trip.
👉 He ACCOMPANIED his friend to the hospital when she wasn't feeling well.
👉 The pianist ACCOMPANIED the singer during the performance.
👉 My brother ACCOMPANIED me on a hike through the mountains, etc.

Trust you've got value!
