YOU MUST MASTER THE USE OF BODY LANGUAGE.
Last November I was in Adamawa State to purchase rice for onward transmission to Lagos for business purpose. My business partner who happened to be an Hausa man doesn't understand a word of English. I, on the other hand, do not speak a word of Hausa. What a mismatch! You will say. But irrespective of the language barrier we shared we still did business together just because we understood each other's body language.

On another occasion when I got a housemaid who couldn't converse in English. She hails from Cotonou so I tried speaking French to her but unfortunately she doesn't understand that either. I had to resort to body language.

My better half is always surprised when I give her instructions and she obeys. When she tries to communicate with her she fails many times. She had to approach me asking for the formula I use in communicating with her. I told her it is simply the use of body language.

If you can master the use of body language you can break any barrier and get your message across to anybody no matter who they are or the language they speak.

As an educator it is your responsibility to read the body language of your wards and communicate with them using that piece of information you have been able to decipher from your relationship with them. A child whose body tells you that she is not emotional ready to receive learning should not be forced to do so.
