CHT Ningi College of Health Technology Ningi The school was established in 1978 in Bauchi State. The school was transferred to Gombe in 1984. It is an intermediate course.

It commenced with the training of "NURS¬ING AIDS" now Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW). Later the school expanded with the training of more courses such as Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) and Medical Laboratory Assistants. f Public Health Superintendants, now Environmental Health Officers (EHO) was introduced in 1987. In September 1998, the School of Health Technology was re-established in Bauchi, in the Specialist Hospital Bauchi, to cater for the health needs of the present Bauchi State after the creation of Gombe State. The school is to train middle level health personnel to meet the demands of Primary Health Care from the grass root and the state in general. The training of medical Laboratory Assistants is to provide uniform and comparable standard services for medical Laboratory Science in all. This is in accordance to section one sub-section (1)(a) of the Institute of medical Laboratory of Nigeria Act 56 of 1968. On successful completion of all the courses, they are employed to serve in the communities all over the state. The School embraces the policies of Bauchi State Ministry of Health, Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN), West Africa Health Examination Board (WAHEB), Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) and Institute of Medi¬cal Laboratory Technician of Nigeria (IMLTN); and Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBON). There are many other courses awaiting approval from the relevant bodies.
