*ESUT Ex-Student Leaders Association paid courtesy call on Rt. Hon Barr Sunday Cyriacus Umeha’s in his Abuja Office.*

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Ex-Student Leaders Association recently paid a courtesy visit to Rt. Hon. Barr. Sunday Cyriacus at his office in Abuja.

Recall that Umeha is a great alumnus of ESUT whose leadership skills honed during his days in school as one of the Supreme Court Justices of Student Union Government of ESUT. One of his remarkable outings was his lead judgment in the case between the Attorney General of Student Union Government vs. Elected Executives of Faculty of Environmental Sciences Students Association where Umeha annulled the election that brought the executives into the office, ordered fresh election, directed the executives to vacate their offices, returned their identity cards and directed the Students security wing to padlock the offices among other directives.

The Ex Leaders led by the Abuja Chapter Chairman and his Vice Barr. Chidi Udekwe and Ihemadu Wisdom extolled the leadership qualities of Umeha right from his days in the Student Union Government and remarked that they are not surprised that Umeha attained this height given his antecedents. They congratulated him and urged him to remain a good ambassador of not only the ex leaders of ESUT but the entire ESUT community. They acknowledge the difficult task associated with the position, especially as a first timer and the hurdles he went through, particularly at the Tribunal and Court of Appeal, before ascending the throne. The Leaders expressed full confidence in the ability of Umeha to deliver on his mandate and give the people of Ezeagu/Udi Federal Constituency effective representation.

The visit was marked by admiration and pride, as the alumni reflected on Hon. Umeha’s unwavering commitment to progressive ideals that have continuously defined his career. His former colleagues emphasized how his formative role in student government laid a strong foundation for his career, noting that his influence extended far beyond the classroom.

The group discussed their optimism for Nigeria’s future under Hon. Umeha’s leadership, trusting that his integrity and dedication to service would contribute meaningfully to national progress. As a leader “tested and trusted” since his university days, Hon. Umeha has continually demonstrated qualities the association holds in high regard.

Hon. Umeha reciprocated the sentiment, expressing gratitude for the continued support of his fellow alumni and reinforcing his commitment to driving change for a better Nigeria. His passion for social justice, cultivated from his days at , was evident in the spirited discussions about moving Nigeria forward.

By the end of their meeting, Hon. Umeha was officially welcomed into the ESUT Ex-Student Leaders Association, further solidifying the bond between him and his former colleagues. The association pledged to continue to support as he navigate the hurdles associated with leadership.
