UNN notice on temporal closure of main gate 2
The Vice-Chancellor has directed that the University Community be formally notified of upcoming major rehabilitation and reconstruction work scheduled for the University's Main Gate 2 (the entrance from University Road) at the Nsukka Campus.
To facilitate the smooth commencement of construction, Main Gate 2 will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting: Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Commuters and members of the university community are advised to plan their movements accordingly and utilize the following alternative access points:

Zik’s Flats Gate
Odenigwe Gate
Nru Entrance (Main Gate 1)
The university administration appreciates your patience and cooperation as we undertake this laudable venture to improve our campus infrastructure.

Queen Elizabeth: Don’t rename UNN, Ohanaeze tells Presidency.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze, has asked the Presidency to jettison the suggestion of renaming the University of Nigeria Nsukka to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria.

The group said the move could be best for A*o Rock Abuja or other parts of the North.

This was as it stressed that the former presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party, Adamu Garba, must tender an apology to Ndigbo for making such an un-historical remark which was capable of instigating conflict in the country.

Rename UNN to ‘Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria’, Adamu Garba tells Buhari.
Ex-presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Adamu Garba, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to immortalize Queen Elizabeth who died at Balmoral aged 96.

He asked Buhari to rename the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria.
