A LETTER OF CONDOLENCE

Dear Sister Praise Itam

Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

On behalf of the Students Union Government and entire Students of Essien Ukpabio Presbyterian Theological College, Itu, we write to express our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved mother.

We received the sad news with great sorrow. The loss of a mother is one of the most painful experiences anyone can face.

Mothers are precious gifts from God who nurture, guide, support, and pray for their children through every stage of life.

We understand that this loss comes at a particularly difficult moment, only a few days after you successfully completed your first academic year and were preparing to advance into your second year of studies.

What should have been a season of joy and celebration has suddenly become a period of mourning and grief.

As a theological college community, we share in your pain and stand with you during this challenging time.

While words may not be enough to remove the sorrow from your heart, we take comfort in the assurance of God's Word:
_"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18)._

We pray that the God of all comfort will surround you with His love, strengthen you in your weakness, and grant you peace that surpasses all understanding.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in faith and hope. The same God who has brought you this far in your spiritual and academic journey will continue to sustain you.

May He give you the grace to bear this loss, comfort your entire family, and provide for every need during this period of bereavement.

"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Essien Ukpabio Presbyterian Theological College, Itu now say—if it had not been the LORD who was on our side..." (Psalm 124:1–2)

Indeed, the Lord has been our help, our strength, our shield, and our sustainer throughout the 2025/2026 academic session.

Through every lecture, examination, worship service, field experience, ministerial formation, challenge, and triumph, God's faithfulness has remained constant.

As we conclude another enriching academic session and proceed on vacation, we lift our voices in gratitude to the One who has preserved us, guided us, and brought us this far.

We celebrate the knowledge acquired, the friendships nurtured, the spiritual growth attained, and the ministerial vision strengthened within our hearts.

Like the Psalmist, we boldly declare:
"Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 124:8)
