It Gets More Fragile

I remember going for an interview in August. It was at one of such schools that give heavy tests to teachers to prove their knowledge of the subjects.

An insider told me afterwards that many people had written the exam(for English Language) and the school--as at then--had not found anyone qualified for it, knowledge wise.

Within the last two weeks and now, I have seen up to 15 adverts for teaching vacancies especially in the areas of English language and Mathematics.

Then I visited a school last week. While in the secretary's office, I heard two persons discussing how some teachers had come for interview in the same areas and they could not pick any.

Yesterday(29th Sept), my school conducted interview for teachers. My dear, there were more jokers than serious humans as applicants. On Friday, 30th, another set came. It was still a group of jokers. And where I am is such a school that'll rather stay without a teacher than employ a mediocre as a teaching staff.

I'm compelled to ask:

What is happening?

Where are all the good heads we had?
Did they leave the profession?

Or has there been a mass migration of teachers to other countries and I am not aware?

Then what will the next ten years be like in the teaching profession, considering that it keeps deteriorating?

If you run a school and you have any good teacher in any field at all, let me tell you: THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT into better places. Better TREAT YOUR GOOD TEACHERS WELL. Well, except you are among those who do not really care about the quality of teachers they hire.

And I'll still tell my fellow teachers to try improving themselves as we can smell a revolutionary influence descending on the educational sector of the country gradually. Good teachers will soon find reasons to enjoy what they do. Competition is setting in among big private schools, hence, many of them call for 'quality materials' among teachers for employment, and they pay well too. Just improve and allow opportunity meet preparedness on your side.

The field of education is very FRAGILE now.
