"It was last 2 weeks my brother who's been chatting with this girl on Facebook. They've been chatting for over 4 months, he's been sending money and gifts to her. Doing everything she asked for.

So he asked to see her and invited her over. But she refused to come,she insisted he comes instead since it's their first time seeing coz she's sc*red. So he agreed.

When he told me about it .I didn't agree at first coz he wanted us to go together. When I heard the girl lives in the mainland agege specifically I warned him coz we've heard stories of how the mainland can be rough. But he was blinded by love and refused. So as a supportive sister I accompanied him there.

When we got to the location she described , the place was so crowdy and dirty.she came out to pick us and then we started going when my brother told her we should go to a restaurant she says she knows a better restaurant.

This girl took us to a place we didn't even know where we were going. The next thing about 5 boys came out from no where and started trying to h*rass us. We had no idea this girl was working for them and one of the boys was her boyfriend.

They started sh0uting and tried to touch me. I slapped one of them and he got angry and try to h*t me and my brother pu*ched him and they all started be*thing him. I ran away and went to look for help.

Before I came with the good strangers theyve be*ten up my brother and took his phone and everything. We rushed him to the hospi . He got discharged a week later. He's so heartb . I'm never going to the mainland again"

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has upgraded OPay, Moniepoint, PalmPay, and other fintech companies to national licences.

What does this mean?

With the national licence, these fintech firms are now permitted to open physical offices in all states across Nigeria. The upgrade also confirms that they have met the CBN’s minimum capital requirement of ₦5 billion.

In addition, their accounts can now be used as salary accounts, and statements of account from these platforms are officially recognised and accepted for international travel and visa applications.
