APU Hails Kwara Governor on 65th Birthday Celebrations

The Vice Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, on behalf of the management of Ahman Pategi University and the entire university community, congratulated Kwara State governor on his remarkable 65th Birthday Celebrations.

In a statement according to the Vice Chancellor through the Director of University Public Relations Muhammed Jiya read; "I am honoured to extend warmest birthday greetings to His Excellency, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State.

APU Mourns the Passing of Kwara State Chief of Staff

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade on behalf of the management of Ahman Pategi University wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to the Chairman Nigeria Governor's Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, his family, and loved ones on the passing of Prince Mahe Abdulkadir, the Chief of Staff to the Kwara State governor.

The university community is deeply saddened by the news and shares in the grief of the Governor and the people of Kwara State.

In a statement by the Vice Chancellor through the University's Director of Public Relations Muhammed Jiya, "the Chief of Staff's demise is a tremendous loss, and his contributions to the state's development will be greatly missed."

Ahman Pategi University Gets Permanent Licence from NUC
..Appreciate Commission on Historic Milestone Achieved as the University Earns Full Operational Status

Ahman Pategi University (APU) has achieved a significant milestone with the National Universities Commission (NUC) issuing a permanent licence, granting the institution full operational status as a private university in Nigeria.

It will be recalled that the University was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Universities Commission (NUC) on April 8, 2021.

The permanent licence was awarded following a resource verification exercise that took place around this year, June 2024.

According to a statement from the NUC, the permanent licence recognizes APU's substantial investment in infrastructure, faculty development, and research initiatives, positioning the university as a leading player in Nigeria's private tertiary education sector.

Dr. Amina Ahman Pategi who received the licence certificate at NUC's office in Abuja today, 30th of October, 2024, on behalf of the late founder, Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi expressed gratitude to the commission, saying, "This achievement validates our dedication to providing world-class education. We remain committed to nurturing talented individuals who will drive national development."

The permanent licence enables APU to expand its academic programmes, strengthen industry partnerships, and enhance research collaborations, further solidifying its reputation as a centre of academic excellence.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Governing Council, the Management, Staff and Students of Ahman Pategi University, with deep sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of our beloved founder and proprietor, Hon. Aliyu Ahman Pategi, whose sudden departure has cast a shadow of grief over our entire university community.

I equally extend my heartfelt condolences to HRH, Etsu Patigi Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II on the passing of Galadima of Patigi, a renowned icon and philanthropist. May this unforgettable loss be eased by the comfort and support of loved ones, and may Almighty God grant you, his family, close associates, and well-wishers the strength to navigate this difficult time

The late Hon. Ahman Pategi was not only a distinguished three-term member of the House of Representatives but also a visionary leader who understood that education is the bedrock of societal development. His most enduring legacy perhaps lies in his profound commitment to education, exemplified through the establishment of Ahman Pategi University. As our founder, he demonstrated an unwavering dedication to nurturing future leaders and scholars, believing firmly in the transformative power of quality education.

In the House of Representatives, his impactful contributions through the Water Resources and Appropriation committees showcased his dedication to national development. Yet, it was his passionate investment in education that truly set him apart. With deep sorrow, we at Thomas Adewumi University mourn the passing of the distinguished Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Patigi, Proprietor of our twin institution, Ahman Pategi University, Patigi - APU.

On behalf of our Vice-Chancellor, Management, Staff, and Students, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Ahman Patigi University community. Hon. Patigi’s legacy as a visionary and philanthropist who tirelessly advanced education in Kwara State and beyond will forever inspire us.

Egbewole mourns varsity founder, Ahman Pategi

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has commiserated with the management, staff, and students of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, on the death of its founder and Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi.

The former lawmaker died on Thursday at the age of 59 years.

In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, on Friday (October 25, 2024), Prof. Egbewole, who is also the Chairman of the Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), described the death of Hon. Pategi, the proprietor of a prominent member-university of the Consortium, as a rude shock and a sad loss.

The Vice Chancellor said that the death of Alhaji Ahman Patigi, who was a former Member of the House of Representatives, is a great loss not only to the deceased's family but also to Kwara State, and the nation's university system and particularly to KU8+.

Prof. Egbewole also commiserated with the Etsu Pategi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi, and the entire people of Patigi Emirate on the death of an illustrious son and a shining light of the Emirate, saying that the late former federal law maker's contributions to the promotion of education and advancement of his people's general well-being would not be forgotten in a hurry.

The Vice Chancellor prayed Almighty Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the late politician, philanthropist, and statesman and comfort all the family members and associates he left behind.

APU Mourns the Passing of Founder, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students of Ahman Pategi University, we announce the passing of our beloved Founder, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi.

Hon. Ahman-Pategi was a visionary leader, educator, and philanthropist who dedicated his life to providing quality education and empowering future generations. His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us to strive for excellence.

We mourn the loss of a remarkable individual who touched countless lives through his selfless service and unwavering commitment to education. His contributions to the development of Ahman Pategi University and the community will never be forgotten.

Until his death, Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bahago was the Galadima of Patigi.

The funeral (Janazah) prayer session for the departed will come up in Patigi on Friday the 25th of October, 2024, after the Juma'at prayer service. The Fidau Prayer would be as proposed by the family, which will be communicated.

We pray that Allah grants his soul eternal rest and comfort his family, friends, and the entire university community during this difficult time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are required to possess appropriate skills and orientations as well as adequate teaching and research experience.
1. Professor: Ph.D. degree in the discipline applied for with evidence of
high-level scholarship in terms of reputable publications, postgraduate
supervision, mentorship, as well as administrative leadership. In
addition, the candidate should possess at least 10 years post-doctoral teaching and research
experience in the university.
2. Associate Professor (Reader): Same as for Professor but with at least
8 years post-doctoral experience.
3. Senior Lecturer: Same as for Professor but with at least 6 years of post- doctoral qualification.
4. Lecturer I: Ph.D. degree from a reputable University, with at least 3
years of post-doctoral teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly
publications.
5. Lecturer II: A Doctorate in the discipline in addition to Bachelor’s
Degree.

6. Assistant Lecturer
Interested Applicants must possess minimum of First Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) and Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) from a recognized University. Teaching and Research experiend will be an advantage.

In addition, candidates must have evidence of registration for Ph.D. or almost concluding a Ph.D. Programme in a relevant field.

THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN

The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all Library services in the University. As an Academic staff, the University Librarian will be required to provide both academic and administrative leadership to members of staff in the University Library.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CANDIDATE

The candidate must possess postgraduate degree(s) in Library Science with at least fifteen (15) years relevant post-qualification experience in an institution of higher learning. Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage. Due consideration will also be given to candidates with international exposure and experience.The candidate should not be below the rank of Deputy University Librarian (CONTISS 14), with vast experience in Library activities in a reputable Nigerian University.


ii. Exhibits the ability to lead by example and has clear mentorship skills and plans; and should not be older than sixty (60) years upon appointment and should be within the retirement age at the expiration of his/her tenure;
iii. Exhibits a considerate degree of competence, responsiveness, demonstrable integrity and transparency on matters of human resource management with an outstanding experience at the management level;
iv. Be a person with good leadership qualities who can inspire and motivate colleagues; a person with clear vision for the development of the University, and must be ready to implement the vision of the University;
v. Be a highly commendable person both in character and quality of service, with clear physical or documentary evidences;
vi. Be focused and innovative, computer literate, and must have a good working understanding of communication by internet; and
vii. Be in excellent physical and mental health.

NON-TEACHING POSITIONS:

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Qualifications and Requirements

HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business Administration, with a minimum of Nine (9) years of experience in Accounting/Auditing.
MBA/MSc will be an added advantage.

Strong IT literacy and proficiency in accounting software.

Management/Administrative skills and professional qualification is an added

Overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.

File withholding Tax returns monthly

Help in the preparation of annual budget

Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

ACCOUNTANT I

Qualification and Requirements

• HND/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience in audit firms or firms in the financial services, manufacturing, educational industry or any other related organization.

• ACCA, ACA, MSc/MBA will be an added advantage.

• Good analytical/numerical skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Strong knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), and an understanding of double entries.

• Have advanced Microsoft Excel Skills and Sage Acc Package or other related packages.

• Be an effective team player with a positive attitude
