Success of the Inauguration Event of the New Executives of RiSUMSA
The inauguration ceremony of the new Executive Council of the Rivers State University Medical Students’ Association (RiSUMSA), held on Saturday, 14th September , 2024 at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences Auditorium, was an outstanding success. The event marked a significant milestone in the association's journey, as a new leadership team was ushered in to steer the affairs of RiSUMSA for the upcoming tenure.
The outgoing executive council, led by Dapper Tamunoemi Kenneth, gave heartfelt speeches recounting their achievements, challenges, and the lessons learned during their tenure. Their dedication and service to the association were appreciated by all in attendance, and their efforts were applauded.
The highlight of the event was the formal swearing-in of the new executives, led by Waribo Daniel Isotu, who, in their inaugural speech, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in them and outlined their vision for RiSUMSA. Key goals mentioned included fostering greater student involvement, advocating for better academic and social welfare, and strengthening collaboration between medical students and the university administration.
