We are creative and goal driven young energetic Geoscience and Engineering Students of the Prestigious University of Port Harcourt. As students of these fields of study, our main objective is to improve and add value to the oil and gas industry in all areas where necessary. Having observed carefully the recent challenges in the exploration, production and marketing process in the oil and gas sector, we realized that there is much more assistance needed in improving and add value into the sector through technical and strategic methods.
EAGE is one of the ideal organization with well-structured platform and potential members within the globe through which this objective can be properly achieved gradually. We commend EAGE for its effective actions in promoting Geosciences and Engineering respectively, as well as promoting EAGE student activities within local regions.
Our motivations of starting EAGE Uniport Student Chapter are based on adding value, quality and working in accordance with the purpose of EAGE Student Chapter. This can be achieved by promoting Geosciences and Engineering activities within our local community through intensive studies, research work, Field trips, Lecture Tour, Outreach as well as promoting sporting activities and encouraging students in this related field of study to participate in them. We will strive to collaborate with other EAGE chapters around the World and extend relationship towards similar association chapters globally. Student professional development will also allow students to test their expertise in preparing technical reports, papers and cooperative efforts in research projects whereby adding value to the oil and gas Industry.

The purpose of EAGE Student Chapters is to promote Geosciences and specific branches of Geosciences in the Oil and Gas Industry,Mining,Environmental and Civil Engineering as well as promote Global EAGE Students Activities within Local Regions

EAGE encourages Student Chapter to be creative and work rigorously to become and essential part of Local Student Communities by demonstrating a high level of interest in the future of this Industry.
