Please read carefully and learn.

20% of social media users and shoppers have been scammed at one point or the other, either large bucks or small money and It's quite painful.

Many people don't always know what to do, so today I’m sharing with you things you do, when you realize a page you paid for a service or goods is ghosting you:

1. Screenshot all previous chats across all messaging app (Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook etc).

2. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

3. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text)

4. Copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

5. Go to any branch of the scammer’s bank (the bank the scammer uses), ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

6. If you can, print out all those chats with the scammer, and submit it. While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK and copy CBN FRAUD DESK ([email protected])

This will ginger the bank to take it up fast.
What should you expect from this?

The culprit/suspects account will be PLACED ON HOLD. Meaning he/she cannot transfer or withdraw until they visit the bank and when they do, the bank will contact the police and the suspect when proven guilty will sign a waiver allowing the bank to refund your money.

POSTPONEMENT OF ON-LINE EXAMINATION

Sequel to our earlier announcement on the commencement of on-line Academic activities at the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, I am directed to inform you with regrets, that due to the prevailing circumstances, the on-line Examination scheduled to start on Monday 11th May, 2020 has been postponed.

All Undergraduate Students are therefore advised to continue with the Revision exercise in preparation for the First Semester Examinations on-line.

Consequently, a new date for the on-line examination shall be announced in due
course.

However, on-line lectures for all Postgraduate programmes shall continue as scheduled.

PRESS RELEASE

ANNOUNCEMENT OF ONLINE RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES.

The Senate of the Rivers State University at a meeting held today Tuesday, 28th April, 2020 to review the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the directives of the Rivers State Government on e-learning have approved the following decisions.

1. That the university shall resume online academic activities effective Monday 4th May 2020.

2. That students are to continue to stay at home in line with the physical distancing directives of the State and Federal Government.

3. That Postgraduate online lectures shall commence on Monday, 4th of May 2020.

4. That first semester examinations for undergraduate students shall commence online on Monday, 11th of May 2020.

5. That all lectures or meetings with students shall be online using web-based video conferencing options in line with physical distancing directives.

In line with the above, parents and guardians are hereby encouraged to support their children and wards by providing them with the minimum hardware and data required to enable them effectively participate in the online lectures and examinations. Students who have not completed their registration are requested to do so as only duly registered students will have access to the portal for participation in the examinations.
