Federal Polytechnic Ukana Concludes 2025/2026 Entrepreneurship Training Exercise
In line with its commitment to equipping students with both academic knowledge and practical skills, Federal Polytechnic Ukana has successfully concluded its 2025/2026 Entrepreneurship Development Exercise.
The programme, designed to prepare students for self-reliance in Nigeria’s dynamic economic environment, covered a wide range of vocational and skill-based areas. These included painting craft, confectioneries production, hair barbing, hair dressing, soap and detergent production, digital photography, fashion design, phone and computer repairs, and electrical wiring craft.
Students of the institution participated actively in the training, selecting skill areas based on their interests and career aspirations. The initiative is part of the Polytechnic’s broader strategy to produce graduates who are not only academically sound but also entrepreneurial and job-creating.
Speaking on the exercise, the Acting Director of Entrepreneurship Development, Mr. Jude Inyangetoh, noted that the programme aligns with the institution’s vision of fostering entrepreneurship among students. He explained that the training is aimed at empowering participants with practical competencies that will enable them to thrive in the prevailing Nigerian economy.
He further emphasized that the Polytechnic remains committed to sustaining and improving such initiatives to ensure that its graduates are well-prepared for both employment and self-employment opportunities.
The successful completion of the exercise marks another milestone in the institution’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application.
