Dear University of Uyo Students,
In line with the resolve and commitment of the Elisha Udom GCUI administration as Director of Information and Public Relations, Students' Union, University of Uyo, to propel University of Uyo to greater heights in the media, and to give Students The Right Information with regards to their Academics and other areas of life, the Students' Union Director of Information on 6th of January, 2024 signed a memorandum of understanding with the leadership of URUAN PREMIER LEAGUE.

This partnership between UNIUYO STUDENTS' UNION INFORMATION DIRECTORATE and URUAN PREMIER LEAGUE (UPL) provides a platform for both organizations to strengthen their relationship for the benefit of their respective members.
First off being a content creation competition open to the public, sponsored by URUAN PREMIER LEAGUE with over 100,000 naira in cash prizes for winners.

In addition, Having successfully hosted it's first UPL season, and ready to Host season two of the URUAN PREMIER LEAGUE beginning from 28th January 2024, this partnership is necessary, both to lovers and non lovers of football as it supports the collective goals and core values of both organisations which centers on youth growth and development.

Elisha Udom remains committed to collaborating with other reputable organizations and individuals to ensure that the partnership's objectives are achieved for the mutual benefit of both our Students and Partners.

SHARE A SMILE

On the 29th of December,2023, in a bid to contribute our quota to the society, the Directorate of Health and Welfare of the Students' Union of the University of Uyo under the leadership of Comr. Edidiong Bassey took to the streets of Uyo to extend the good tidings of the Yuletide season to homeless kids in the environment.

The street outreach tagged "Share a meal and Share a smile" kick-started at about 1pm with the first port of call being the ever-bustling Ibom Plaza,Uyo. The team ensured that they did not only give out meals to the kids but also made it a responsibility to reassure these children of better lives and a brighter future.

The Directorate's goodwill was also felt at Greenfield,Brooks street where the team distributed meals to the kids. A gripping scene was when Comr. Edidiong Bassey was close to tears upon realising that one of the kids she was talking to was actually blind. One could only imagine the sufferings that the poor boy goes through on a daily basis!

This was just to encourage the kids out there and also give them hope. Our world needs more of love and more of compassion. In your own little way, you could make a big difference!

I want to sincerely appreciate every single person who contributed to the success of this event. God bless you all

Dearest Tuskites of Tusker Republic, I am inviting you to an academic summit this Saturday - 2nd December 2023, for a one-day academic retreat on interesting and exciting topics and activities, which shall also witness the award of cash prizes to winners of our essay competition tagged "Restructuring Nigeria: The Academic Institutions As Antidotes to Nigeria's Maladies." As part of our mandate to ensure a clean and safe learning environment for the students of University of Uyo, the Students' Union Government, Office of the Director of Health, Welfare and Environment is proposing an environmental clean up project tagged: "GO GREEN".

Time: 7am

The aim of the project is to promote/foster cleanliness in University of Uyo campuses.

In the bid to foster inclusiveness among students, the Presidency unveils the novel “Dialogue with the President” program.

This initiative is designed as a public enquiry, to hold every week on Fridays, as students will get go directly communicate their concerns and pressing needs to the President. The platform will also serve as an interface for the students to receive progress briefings from the Student Union President.

Join in for the premiere edition slated to hold from this Friday by 4pm, at the University of Uyo Community Center.
