How do you stay relevant when the world of work keeps changing?

According to business strategist Debo Ademakinwa, the answer may not be learning every new tool or technology. Instead, it starts with understanding the value you create.

One of the most powerful questions from a recent Goodmorning BSN session was:
What problem are you solving?

It's a simple question, but one that can change how we think about our careers, our skills and our future.

Cross-border work isn’t just about alignment - it’s about understanding. You start to speak in simple, direct language that travels well across cultures.

This approach reduces confusion and makes joint work smoother. It’s a skill many professionals develop over time.

Global teams show how much clarity matters when distance is involved.

Cross-border communication sits at the core of the Global Action Learning MBA’s global design. If you want to understand how we bring diverse professionals together, visit our programme page.

Global collaboration stretches your thinking in ways local teams can’t. Different backgrounds bring different angles, and that diversity uncovers blind spots.

It also teaches patience and clearer communication. You learn to listen for intent rather than accent.

Working across borders builds a more complete view of the problem.

Many organisations place pressure on people to have answers quickly.

But complex challenges rarely respond well to rushed thinking.

One of the recurring themes from participants in a recent Action Learning workshop was the value of thoughtful questioning - not interrogation, but questioning that helps teams gain deeper insight and understanding.

Participants reflected on:
• listening differently
• exploring assumptions
• gaining clarity before acting
• and approaching challenges from multiple perspectives

The process helped teams move beyond surface-level responses and focus more carefully on what was actually happening within the organisation.

In many workplaces, the quality of discussion shapes the quality of decision-making. And often, better questions lead to better outcomes.

When Change Becomes Constant, What Makes You Stand Out?

Markets evolve. Industries shift. Customer expectations change. Yet some professionals and organisations continue to create value regardless of the environment around them.
Join us for the next Goodmorning BSN! session as Debo Ademakinwa, Founder of Demakay INC. (Accounting & Tax Solutions), explores why value-creation thinking is becoming one of the most important leadership capabilities in a world defined by constant change.

Reflecting on the discussion, Funmilayo Kunle-Komolafe, Group Head, SME & Wealth at AXA Mansard Insurance PLC, will share additional perspectives on staying relevant, creating meaningful impact, and building resilience in a rapidly changing business landscape.

What does it take to turn an idea into reality?

For our next BSN Read∞ session, we're excited to welcome one of our own.
BSN graduate and author Shaun Fuchs will join Prof Bernie van Zijl for a live conversation about his book, The School That Didn't Exist, and the journey behind building Centennial Schools.

This is more than a discussion about a book. It's a chance to hear first-hand about the challenges, decisions, setbacks, and breakthroughs that come with creating something new.

Whether you're building a business, leading a team, or pursuing an idea that matters to you, there's something to learn from those who have done it.

📅 24 June, 16:00 (UTC+2)

Before we meet Shaun, we'd love to hear from you:
What's the biggest leadership challenge you've faced when driving change?

And if you'd like to join the conversation live, register for BSN Read∞ and bring your questions.

One of the strongest insights from a recent Action Learning workshop at West Coast District Municipality was this: Many workplace challenges are approached with too much haste.

Not because people lack experience or commitment - but because operational environments often push teams toward immediate answers before the real issue is fully understood.

During the workshop, participants reflected on the importance of slowing down the thinking process:
• listening more carefully
• exploring different perspectives
• understanding root causes
• and asking questions that create insight rather than assumptions

Complex organisational challenges rarely have simple answers.

Sometimes the most valuable step is creating space to think differently before acting.

Participants highlighted problem-solving, communication, and collaborative thinking as some of the most practical takeaways from the session.
