Study Association Clio

Study Association Clio Clio is the Study Association of the International Relations & International Organization programme of the University of Groningen.

With 1000 members it is one of the largest study associations in Groningen. Clio organizes activities such as lectures, conferences, travel abroad, parties and workshops in order to give IRIO students the best experience possible as a student in Groningen.

When the University of Groningen was first founded in 1614, it was already an internationally diverse university with students from all the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Germany 🇩🇪, and Scandinavia 🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪.
Now in 2026 it is even a more diverse place with students from all over the globe! 🌍

Ubbo Emmius and Clio would like to celebrate everybody’s unique nationality by inviting you to our next party on June 17th ! You can dress up in clothing to represent your nationality or famous people from your country!

Don’t show up late because Happy Hour is from 22:00 till 23:00 and beers only cost €1,40! That’s less than half the price of a normal beer! Will we see you then at het Pakhuis?

Meet the committee... Yearbook!📔✨

The Yearbook committee, as it name indicates, is responsible for making Clio's annual yearbook! 👏🏼 From September to May, the committee works on this project to ensure that members are able to look back at a wonderful year filled with love and memories ❤️. Furthermore, the committee also records the "Yapping with Clio" series 🗣️, bringing together members to talk about IR, Clio, or general student experiences 😉.

Tonight, the Yearbook Announcement Party (or YAP!) is taking place in Het Pakhuis, where the secret theme of the yearbook will finally be revealed 👀 and you will be able to pick up your own yearbook! 🥰

Tip: Bring a pen to make sure that all your friends and fellow Clio members can sign your yearbook! 🖋️✨

On the 1st of June, 4 Associations come together for the cause of sustainability! Join us in the afternoon to learn more about sustainable cooking, the Westpark and TuinInDeStad.

In the evening, we will end with a sustainable wine tasting and some food, joined by various local initiatives in Groningen that support sustainable causes. Sign up now on the Clio website!
