What is a Strategic Partner? The UG Board in 2020 adopted the Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF). The SPF is a three-year pilot project (2022-2024), with focused investments in nine different non-European partner universities to complement UG’s collaborative strategy in Europe. It responds to the need to optimize the contribution of internationalization towards the quality of research and education. Partners have been selected because of their quality and complementarity, national & regional reputation, and their commitment to also cooperate with Groningen.

Still thinking about staying in the North of the Netherlands or going abroad? Join our CareerCafe and talk to alumni who have done the same. Meet alumni in Groningen on Tuesday, 19 April or join us online to talk to alumni living and working abroad on Wednesday, 20 April.

At the (online) CareerCafé you meet young UG graduates who started their careers in the region or abroad and who would love to share their tips on getting the (maybe) perfect job. Connect with alumni and learn from their career stories.

You will choose your favorite alum and will work in the group to ask your questions to the alum. In small groups of fellow students you will talk with an alum and ask them your questions, such as:

How did you get your first job?

Did you encounter any pitfalls in searching for a job?

Which skills are most important in your job?

You will then receive an email to choose two sessions with an alumnus in Groningen and/ or an alumnus abroad. It is first come, first served! So, don’t hesitate too long but instead, try to connect with your preferred alumni.

In the picture, the Energy Academy Europe, home to the Energy Delta Institute - developed with the support of (among others) Gazprom when "Europe" included a non-belligerent Russia, and an unassaulted and unbesieged Ukraine. Now, ties between Gazprom and the University of Groningen have been frozen effective immediately. The below article by university newspaper UKrant has more.
