At ChoreoComp, there’s little time between the first idea and the stage.

Three choreographers and three composers pair up every two days, working with students of Royal Conservatoire Dance and the Dance Ensemble to create a new piece.

The result? Three new works, shared with an audience every second evening and performed with live music.

When & where: 1, 3 & 5 September · Dance Studio 3, Amare, The Hague

Congratulations to Royal Conservatoire alum Niccolò Angioni (Niccolò Angioni) on winning the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2026, made possible by het Cultuurfonds.

Niccolò completed his master’s degree in jazz composition at the Royal Conservatoire cm laude. Since then, he has continued to develop his own distinctive voice as a composer and arranger – a quality also highlighted by the jury, alongside his craftsmanship, artistic vision and imaginative approach to composition.

As part of the award, Niccolò will compose a new work for Jong Metropole, to be performed and recorded during their 2027 summer tour.

We are proud to see Niccolò receive this recognition and look forward to hearing his new work in 2027.
