Our Story

We started working on the mirror in May 2016. A video of a guy with a smart mirror was circulating on the internet, and we thought it was the coolest thing ever. But we also thought; what is the point of ordering a Uber or listen to music in the hallway? Who really needs something like this on a daily basis? After a few trips down to Sephora we decided that our smart mirror should become a smart makeup mirror.

So we started asking around. What do you like to do when you are putting on makeup? If you could go to the future and buy a vanity mirror, what would it do? What would it look like?

After a year of planning, pitching and prototyping we were ready to take Amiroh Smart Mirror to market. With the help of Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, we got funded by The Norwegian Research Council in June 2017 through the STUD-ENT program. We also moved in to Western Norway University’s new startup incubator!

We finished our test-production of 20 mirrors in November 2017, as well as the backend of the mirror’s platform. Check out the roadmap to see what we are working on in 2018 and the big dates.
