Today, our students had their last in-class exam, marking the end of their time on campus, which we of course celebrated with Norwegian waffles 🥳🇳🇴 The semester has been eventful and has gone by fast, and we will miss all our students. We wish them the best of luck with their final exams and their next chapters.

Last week, the students taking the Svalbard Travel Course went on the annual Svalbard trip!

The students explored the unique Arctic nature, spotted Svalbard reindeer, stayed safe from polar bears, and learned about Svalbard’s unique geopolitical status and local challenges like sustainability, attracting year-round visitors, and security. And of course, they enjoyed plenty of hot chocolate!

The program included visits with CEO of Visit Svalbard Ronny Brunvoll, a trip to the Svalbard Museum, and the guided bus tour "Longyearbyen in a nutshell" which included a trip to the Global Seed Vault. Students also participated in the Sun Festival (Solfestuka) that was happening the entire week ☀️

This week, ACN students and staff had the honour of touring the Storting, Norway’s Parliament building, guided by Member of Parliament Tage Pettersen.

It was an incredible educational opportunity - a journey through the historic halls where Norwegian political decisions, past and present, have taken shape.
