Our friends at the Fulbright Alumni Association Norway and the HumSam Library are hosting an insightful panel on diversity and equity in academia that may interest our ACN alumni and community!

Along with the panel discussion, they’ll be sharing practical info on Fulbright grant opportunities for anyone planning future study or research stays in the US. 🇺🇸✨

This event is open to students, staff, and anyone interested in how academia can become a more diverse and inclusive place!

On Sunday, our students headed to the stadium to support our local team, Moss FK.

Before kick-off, the entire crowd united in a beautiful moment, honoring the memory of His Majesty King Harald V with the national anthem and a minute of applause.

We join all of Norway in mourning the passing of His Majesty King Harald V. He was a truly unifying and inclusive King who was deeply devoted to his people. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Royal Family and the people of Norway.

A warm welcome to our new student cohort at the American College of Norway! 🎓

We kicked off the semester by introducing our incoming students to life at ACN and the local culture here in Moss.

Friday: Students connected with their new peers, explored the town, and enjoyed a true local tradition - pølse i vaffel for lunch.

Sunday: We took the ferry to Horten for a park picnic, where students spent a sunny afternoon playing games and getting to know one another.

Monday: After wrapping up practical orientation, students officially jumped into their first classes of the term.

The energy and enthusiasm from this group are already fantastic. We are looking forward to a vibrant, successful semester ahead!

Welcome Weekend officially kicks off on August 12th, but our first early arrivals are already starting to trickle into town and settle into their housing.

We’re finishing up final preparations on campus today and getting ready to welcome our incoming class.

Gearing up for the new semester!

As we get ready to welcome our incoming class to Moss for the fall, we’re looking back at the incredible visiting faculty who make the ACN community so unique.

Last semester, we were thrilled to host Dr. Susan Joel, long-time Professor of Sociology and Youth Development from Springfield College. On the blog today, Dr. Joel shares her personal reflections on teaching in Moss, exploring Norway, and comparing cultural dynamics!

"Being able to live and work in Norway one semester each year has been such an amazing and unexpected gift."
