Financial Economics Association BI regrets to inform you that the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) is no more as of January 1, 2016. This means that you will no longer be able to take the BAT in any European country. However, the Bloomberg Talent Search (BTS) database will still be accessible for those of you that took the test prior to this change, meaning that you still have an opportunity to get in touch with potential employers.

From now on the focus of Bloomberg Institute will be on Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC). This is a self-paced e-learning course that provides students with an introduction to the Bloomberg Terminal and the world of finance. It covers 4 modules - Economic Indicators, Currencies, Fixed Income, and Equities. By taking the BMC you will become familiar with over 70 Bloomberg Terminal functions. The course takes about 8 hours to complete and you will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the course. As an added benefit, the BMC course qualifies towards 8 of the recommended yearly credit hours for CFA charterholders.

You can take the BMC free at any Bloomberg Terminal at BI Norwegian Business School. These are located at the Bloomberg room in B1-010 and the library. Please register using group code AMBA01.

FEA invites you to take the last BAT session at BI for the year, your score and anonymous profile will be visible to employers who use the Bloomberg Terminal, and there are several in Norway and more than 18,000 around the world. Use the BAT also as practice for aptitude tests that companies like to give out. The BAT, like these tests, forces you to reason logically under time pressure. The BAT makes you aware of your weaknesses that you should work on - perhaps you need to read more of the financial newspapers?
