Norwegian Musicological Society The Norwegian Musicological Society, founded in 1964, publishes the peer-reviewed journal Studia musicological norvegica (Norwegian Journal of Musicology).

The Norwegian Musicological Society is an organisation for music researchers in Norway. The society reaches out to a broad academic community and organises conferences and meetings, and also represents Norway in the regular music research congresses involving the Nordic countries. The Norwegian Musicological Society publishes the peer-based journal Studia Musicologica Norvegica. The journal is the

public face of the society and serves to bring together musicologists and music enthusiasts in Norway. The journal contains articles of an academic character on music, ranging from music history to ethnomusicology, work analysis and theory, as well as book reviews and essays. Studia Musicologica Norvegica is read by music researchers and students, lecturers, music teachers and music enthusiasts in general. The journal is published by Universitetsforlaget in collaboration with the Norwegian Musicological Society and is supported by Norwegian Research Council.
