Congratulations with todays book launch at NTNU i Ålesund: "Marine Plastics: Innovative Solutions to Tackling Waste" 🌟🎊
- In this book we look into the challenges associated with the effective collection and recycling of fishing gear, but also at the opportunities. We present a clear pathway to a more circular approach to the life cycle of fishing gear at a time when it is urgently needed, says Associate professor, Siv Marina Flø Grimstad, who has been project leader for the book.
- The global ocean is under threat; overfishing, marine pollution, climate change, the list goes on and even though the ocean is resilient, this resilience is not indefinite. One of the main concerns, is the continuing degrading of the ocean health. There is no single and fast solution to the problem of marine pollution, but in this book we focus on the largest marine plastic polluter of the Arctic waters, lost and discarded fishing gear, she elaborates.
📖 The book was launched today at Sundebygget in Ålesund, with many of the contributors to the book present. Head of Department at Department of International Business, Mark Pasquine, has been one of the contributors to the book and was one of the first in line to congratulate with the publication at the launch.
