Completion of the 3-weeks long collaborative course "Co-Creative Research in Living Landscapes" offered jointly with the Breda University of Applied Sciences with the focus on co-creative and transdisciplinary research approaches applied to living landscapes, emphasizing collaboration among academia, communities, public institutions, and other stakeholders.

The course was delivered by Dr. John Hummel, Visiting Faculty at the Department of Geomatics Engineering. We were honored to host two international participants from Breda University of Applied Sciences and remain committed to fostering further partnerships with international universities to establish a shared platform for collaborative learning.

The 28-day field survey involving fourth and sixth semester students was successfully completed at Jiri, Dolakha. During this period, students conducted hydropower surveys, leveling, and traversing exercises, with a strong emphasis on accuracy in geodetic measurements and field data collection methodologies.

The field survey activities were inspected by the Head of the Department, Dr. Subash Ghimire, and the Director of the Land Management Training Centre, Mr. Ram Kumar Sapkota to evaluate the progress of the survey and provide essential guidance to the students.

In addition to the technical exercises, the students actively participated in a cleanliness initiative under the slogan "Clean Jiri, Green Jiri," embodying the principle of the College’s commitment to community engagement. We thank all our instructors and faculties for their continuous effort during the field survey camp.

Completion of the 2-day workshop on Basic Remote Sensing and GEE organized for the final-year undergraduate students of Geomatics Engineering.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to our trainers Mr. Arjun Lamichhane, Research Associate at Kathmandu University of Applied Sciences; Ms. Garima Ranabhat from Nepal Forest Fire Management Chapter; and Mr. Suman Sanjel, Geospatial Consultant, for providing their time and efforts to the workshop. Also, special mention for our graduate student Mr. Samrat Acharya for facilitating the workshop.

We believe the training has been valuable for the participants as they gained basic hands-on skills in remote sensing and GEE.

The Department of Geomatics Engineering is pleased to host two visiting professors from India, Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean, Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam and Associate Professor of Information Systems, Indian Institute of Management Raipur.

Prof. Marisetty also delivered a guest lecture regarding Blockchain and Its Role in Citizen Science Initiatives. We believe the insights provided by the professors would add value to our students in their future works and initiatives.
