Tourism New Zealand recently confirmed New Zealand reached 3.7 million international visitor arrivals in the year to June 2026.

3.7 million international visitors. That's a huge number. Someone had to look after all of them.

Think about what happens after somebody decides to visit New Zealand.

✅ They travel around the country.

It was this time last week when we were able to celebrate the graduation for our Business of Tourism City Academy students❤️ 26weeks together!

Today, we’re reminiscing with three ITC graduates - all of which graduated a decade ago or more!

For ITC graduates Sharon, Eileen and Vanessa, their experiences after ITC included Disney, incredible travel experiences, tourism careers they genuinely loved, and even a full-circle return to ITC. Kellian, a Level 5 graduate from our Auckland City campus, has just started her Disney Cultural Exchange Program adventure, and we are so here for it.

Imagine starting out nervous about working overseas, then finding yourself representing New Zealand at Walt Disney World.

30 years. Thousands of students. So many incredible stories.

As we celebrate 30 years of ITC, we’ve been thinking about just how many journeys have started in our classrooms over the years. Students have walked through our doors wondering what their future might look like, then gone on to work in travel, tourism, aviation and beyond, both here in New Zealand and around the world.

While a lot has changed since ITC first began, one thing hasn’t: we still love helping people discover what they’re capable of and take those first steps towards an exciting career.

To every student, graduate, tutor, staff member, employer and industry partner who has been part of the ITC story over the past 30 years, thank you. You’re a huge part of what makes ITC, ITC.
