📖 Celebrating International Literacy Day
Today, we celebrate International Literacy Day and this year’s theme, “Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity.”
Literacy plays an essential role in ensuring our ākonga are learning well and that we as teachers are setting them up to navigate their environments confidently and critically.
We also want to acknowledge the National Library of New Zealand and the amazing services they offer teachers. Alongside resources to engage students in literacy and history, their library service allows teachers to borrow the latest and most relevant books for their lessons with no fees and little wait time.
A great resource to know about if your school library doesn’t have what you need! 📖
