An exciting new arrival this week is War & Peas - the final volume in the popular Robin Hood series, by Robert Muchamore. This action-packed book sees a war waged in Sherwood forest. Robin has been exiled, but he is smuggled back in to join with the rebels in a final confrontation against the President, with the fate of Sherwood on the line.
This series is easy to read and full of adventure, and is well worth reading right from the start!

Today I'd like to highlight Young World. This is a new thriller about a 17 year old boy called Benton who becomes the president of America, setting off a new course for the future. However, when one of the leaders is murdered, Benton becomes the main suspect...
While this is an interesting concept, what makes this book special is its format and design. It includes maps, messages, propaganda, advertising, schedules and social media threads. It's really cool, and very original. It will be available for borrowing next week!

There's a variety of books new to the library this week - here's a peek! There's some interesting fantasy here from some big authors - Brandon Sanderson, Louis Sachar and Katherine Rundel - plus a couple of graphic novels, including the latest in the hugely popular I Survived series. There's also a couple of mysteries, a fascinating and gritty dystopian novel and a few non fiction books, including Stephen Curry's Shot Ready. All are ready for borrowing now!

There's a few enticing horror/thriller novels new to the library this week, ready for borrowing now! A Deadly Pledge is about a boy going under cover to expose the secrets of a school society. This involves taking part in a deadly contest. Nowhere House stars Nate, forced to move into an old farmhouse with deadly secrets and a chilling mystery. Tales from the Pizzaplex is a full-colour horror graphic novel collection based around the world of Five Night's at Freddys, containing three stories.

The new book from the author of the Divergent series is here! This new dystopian series stars soldier Elegy and general Rava. His nation is powerful and worships a fever that blesses some with strange gifts. When a prophecy is announced, it is foretold that either Elegy or Rava will lead their respective people to victory, but another man will be at the centre of both of their fates.
This book promises gritty action, adventure and intrigue in a fascinating future Earth – be the first to read it!

There's a real variety - sports stories, thrillers, dystopian, fantasy, horror, war and a choose your own adventure. If you prefer to read true stories over fiction, this new series might be for you! The True Rescue series examines real rescues that took place during natural disasters or wars and each book includes photos and maps. They are written in an engaging way that makes them really easy to read too. Highly recommended!

If you are a fantasy reader, this one might be for you! Breath of the Dragon is set in a martial world, and sees a young warrior attempting to win the Guardian’s Tournament, gaining his father’s respect and becoming the protector of a magical artifact. However, everything is against Jun – he isn’t breathmarked with special abilities, and the competition is deadly. Alarmingly, he discovers secrets that mean he is also fighting for the fate of his country.
This Bruce Lee inspired novel is a mix of action, adventure and fantasy, and it also has a strong coming-of-age feel. It’s the first of a new series. Come and grab this one or another book for the school holidays...

Hello, readers! Here are two new non-fiction books which have just arrived and which are such to be popular. It's a Bit Rugged, Mate, is another of Al Lester's books crammed full of hunting yarns. Al gives us the best of his hilarious stories of life in the bush and you will be sure to get a few laughs.

Become Unstoppable details Gilbert's sports psychology techniques that helped transform the All Blacks and lead them to victory. His leadership strategies and mental skills are all laid out here and its fascinating reading.
