Yesterday, Tahuna Intermediate had the privilege of hosting the annual Oamaru Exchange, welcoming students and staff from Oamaru Intermediate School for a fantastic day of sport, competition and connection.
Students competed across rugby, football, hockey, netball, basketball and chess, showcasing skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the opportunity to represent their school, challenge themselves and support their teammates.
A huge thank you to all of our staff, coaches, managers, officials and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the day ran smoothly. From venue preparation and transport coordination to coaching and supervision, your efforts were greatly appreciated.
We would also like to extend a massive thank you to King's High School for their outstanding support of the exchange. King's High School provided the majority of the umpires and referees across our sporting fixtures, and their contribution played a significant role in the success of the day. The professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment shown by their students ensured games were played in a positive and enjoyable environment, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
Thank you also to Oamaru Intermediate School for making the trip south and contributing to another memorable exchange. The spirit in which all teams competed was a credit to both schools and highlighted everything that is great about school sport.
These exchanges provide so much more than results, they create opportunities for students to build friendships, develop resilience, show leadership and make lasting memories.
Congratulations to all students who represented Tahuna yesterday. You were outstanding ambassadors for our school.
