Letter from our Phis Overseas: Mia Hernandez 💌
This semester I studied Psychology, Archaeology, and Māori studies at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
While I was immersed in my studies, I also made time for sight seeing and outdoor exploring in the fiordlands and mountains. I went to places like Queenstown, Milford Sound, the Otago Peninsula, and Puketeraki Marae.
My favorite part of this trip was seeing the beautiful rain-activated waterfalls in Piopiotahi and taking a boat out to the open Tasman Sea. It is a very precious memory to me and will forever be my favorite place that I visited in New Zealand!
My advice to those wanting to study abroad: 1) Budget your trip and plan sightseeing ahead of time; 2) Explore your country or continent as much as possible; 3) Make as many friends as possible. The memories that you make with these people are unforgettable.
Although the spring semester is nearly over, I am excited to see all my friends back on campus in the fall!
AOE,
Mia💗
