WINTER TOURNAMENT WEEK🏟️

What an incredible week our athletes have had! It’s been an amazing week with lots of highlights, lots of challenging moments and lots of fun along the way.

Our Premier Netball moved up a grade this year, going from D to C grade — that was an incredible achievement before they even started tournament week!

They finished 16th in C grade — we are so proud of them.

We look forward to sharing more highlights with you this week! 🥳

Hard work pays off! Throughout last term, our JSS students had the chance to earn a Purple for demonstrating great effort, determination and positive behaviour, with every Purple going into our termly Purple Prize Draw. One of the prizes up for grabs was the chance to bring a friend along for an afternoon of zorbing, and our lucky winners cashed that in at the start of this term.

Huge congratulations to Logan Lin, who represented New Zealand at the ITTF Oceania Hopes table tennis tournament this month!

Competing against 14 players from four countries, Logan finished 4th overall, beating Australia's number 8 seed in the round robin and their number 1 seed to reach the semi-finals, helping eliminate every Australian player from the competition.

All four semi-finalists were New Zealand players. This caps off a huge year for Logan, who's also Waikato Close champion and finished 3rd at the NZ North Island Championships. We're so proud of you, Logan!

Congratulations to all of our Year 9 and Year 10 finalists who took part in last week's Speech Competition. Our Year 9 speakers, Aaliyah Bundy-Cooke, Miette van Zyl, Dhanvi Dave and Collins Cook, shared speeches on New Zealand changemakers who have made a difference. Our Year 10 speakers, Livia Ou, Aleah Gavin, Ruby Baxter and Sophie Babisak, tackled ethical dilemmas facing our world today.

Congratulations to Miette van Zyl, who took first place for Year 9, and Aleah Gavin, who took first place for Year 10. All eight finalists represented Hamilton Christian School with confidence and courage, well done to everyone who took part!
