Applications close at the end of the month!
Are you heading overseas for a fellowship in 2027 and unsure if you're eligible:
✔️ an NZ citizen or permanent resident who has completed more than 50% of your anaesthesia training in New Zealand hospitals.
✔️ Passed the final examination for the Diploma of Fellowship in the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
✔️ At the time the scholarship is awarded, have completed all of the requirements of advanced training and are eligible to proceed to Provisional Fellowship training (PFT).
✔️ Intending to return to New Zealand for a minimum of three years to work in anaesthesia following the completion of their fellowship or the period of study that the scholarship may be awarded for.

Over the past week, anaesthetists from Aotearoa and Australia volunteered their time to provide locum cover for our Pacific colleagues, allowing them to attend the Pacific Society of Anaesthetists Annual Conference. Tēnā koutou katoa, e mihi nui ana mō tō mahi - thank you so much for your work. This cover enables connection and learning across the Pacific nations attending the conference and is deeply appreciated.

A special thanks also to the NZSA Global Health Committee volunteers who give their time to help liaise with locations seeking cover and the volunteer locums.

We hope all involved enjoyed their week in the Pacific and the learning this experience offers you too.

Coast Shelter is a leading not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to providing specialist homelessness services, crisis accommodation, and a wide range of support programmes for individuals and families across the NSW Central Coast. NZSA President Dr Jonathan Panckhurst and Global Health Committee member Dr Beth Hall had the privilege of presenting current Diploma in Anaesthesia students with an Oxford Handbook today during the Pacific Society of Anaesthetists' Annual Conference.
These students are in the initial year of training towards an MMed in Anaesthesia at the Fiji National University.
